DVC Member Cruise ~ August 24, 2015

Hey Bobbi
How has your week been? How is your therapy going? I hope it is helping you!! When will you know about the knee replacement?
Another busy week for me! I don't have anything planned this week-end - so not sure what I will do. I cooked a turkey last night (a small one) - and thought I should plan my Thanksgiving menu since that will be here before long. My DD has a bday Tue - so need to get that wrapped up - have the gifts - Just need to find out what kind of cake to make her.
We only had 5 kids for Halloween - so sad = so much left over candy. We all have been taking care of it!
Hope you had a good week.
Lynn

Hi! It's been a good week...physical therapy is something I am committed to doing, and I begin water therapy next week. A knee replacement would be scheduled in January. This is something that had never been mentioned to help me....I do not know if it will happen, but I hope do. I need help walking!

It's been a great week...we are in the Smokies with my sister and her honey! We celebrated a mini Thanksgiving together last night! Lots of leftovers for the rest of our stay! Nancy and I are good friends, not only sisters. Tomorrow Dollywood begins its Christmas season...we're going to catch some shows!

We've been "working" on our left over Halloween candy too!

Have a good weekend!

Thanks everyone! I am terrible at the quote thing so here goes...

PJstevens and sheabear, our cruise was late June. But, we must have been lucky to have two such fun groups. We had 40 people and had to cut it off. My mom and sis-in-law could not believe we had not "met" these people before.

Looking forward to another fun group!

Hi Bobbi, the Dr has told me I need my knees replaced so I am doing PT twice a week to get ready. We have so many plans between now and the end of Jan I don't see how to make it happen before then. Can't wait for this to be over, and to be walking again.

Well, my next doctor's appointment is at the end of January too! I also am busy until mid January. We can talk about our progress!

I look forward to walks too!

9 months from today is our cruise!:yay:

We are traveling for Thanksgiving in New Jersey! We and my sister host the celebration! How about you ... Hosting or a guest!?

Hey Bobbi!
I will be Hosting as always! Would be nice to be a guest - last year we were at Disney - would rather do that! Lucky for me it will be small = just 4 of us so I can't complain! We are having Honey Baked Ham as most here do not like turkey (I love turkey). I had a turkey a couple of weeks ago so I am good. I plan on making my desert today = Lemon Cream Cheese Cupcakes = no one wanted anything pumpkin either (what is wrong with these people?) I am making honey butter today as DD is making Sally Lunn rolls from the Grand Tea at GF. We are having sweet potatoes and green bean casserole with the ham so nothing fancy. I believe DD and BF are making a Carrot Souffle - so can't wait to try that! What are you all having for Turkey dinner?
We are expecting a light dusting of snow today - then it is to warm up again. How is your weather?
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
Lynn

I am going to going to friends house. Will be a big group but always nice. I have to bring garlic mashed potatoes. Hope everyone has a great day.

Happy Thanksgiving cruise mates.....:jumping1::boat:

I wish the same to everyone too!

We have 3 full houses!...plus we pick up some Coast Guard recruits for the day. It's called Operation Fireside and we've been hosting since 1998 for Thanksgiving or Christmas or both. Family chips on with the work involved! It's a day to be Thankful for many blessings!

Wow, so sorry I've been 'MIA'. I have two exams left until I finish my ADN (graduate nurse degree)!!! (of course then the boards, but looking at one hurdle at time).

I hope everyone is doing well. Once I get past these small hurdles I will definitely start getting excited for this cruise (even though it seems so far away still).

Does anyone have trips between now and our cruise? Sadly we do not.

I hope you do very well on your exams. It must feel wonderful to be nearing your goal!

Right now I am in FL with my cousin as we are going on a 9 night RCCL cruise to celebrate her birthday!

Candy exchange sign up?

Right now, our ship is en route to Aruba! Amazingly, this ship has a priest on board and there is daily Mass for Advent.

Hi everyone!

Who has visited WDW this Holiday season?? We have and will be down there again next week for the December 30th and 31st fireworks displays!

We visited the Osborne lights twice, once on a Sunday and once on a Thursday, the Thursday was definitely the better night to be there. We were able to get around and enjoy the lights.

Also, we stayed at the VGR and am happy to say that Richard, a wonderful Cast Member is still there greeting people!

No holiday visits for us the past two years (I was in school and couldn't take off the final weeks of the semester). I have finished nursing school and will sit for my boards in a while (probably February). With the member cruise this coming summer not sure we'll get there for Christmas until the following year, ugh. So bummed.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I forget not everyone is retired! Your time will come!

Hey Bobbi!
I got to go for Thanksgiving last year - they had most of the Christmas deco up. The Parks were not crowded at all - it was really nice - the weather could have been a bit better. I have not been in Dec for a couple of years. I do love the Parks at Christmas! They are so beautiful! I just love the holiday feel they have.

When are you ever home? That is so nice you get to travel so much! I sure hope you are having a nice time and nice weather! Say HI to Mickey for me!
Are the Parks really busy? I know in years past they don't get bad until Christmas day and every day after.

I would really like to be on a beach somewhere nice and warm right about now! Not that the weather is bad here - in the 50s - but no sun - rain, rain and more rain. Chance of snow tomorrow - light dusting to an inch and turning cold. Would like some sunshine! Guess it could be worse!

Are you all ready for Christmas? I am done with shopping and wrapping. Starting my cooking today. Making the Red Onion Jam from the Rose & Crown in a few minutes. Then I am making Spiced Nuts (like you can buy in the Parks). We have a cheese board for Christmas Eve - I got most of the Cheese today - still missing one we like - will try and find it tonight. It is an English Cheddar. I have 5-6 different cheese / spiced nuts / red onion jam / my homemade cranberry sauce / little toast / crackers / some fruit / honey. I also got some seafood dip (something new). I may get some ham thinly sliced to go with it too. I am making Rye Bread Dip for later - when we watch movies or play games.
I am making Cinn Rolls for breakfast Christmas. I make them every year - have for over 30 years. They don't last long. I make them Christmas Eve and cook them while we open gifts Christmas morning and we eat them watching the Disney Parade.
We are having Prime Rib for Christmas Dinner - with cheese potatoes (cheddar and cream cheese and bacon) and 7 layer salad and I am making Apple & Cranberry Pie too. Sounds like a lot - but not really - most is quick to cook and I can make most today.

Did anyone watch the Wonderful World of Disney on Turner Classic TV Sunday night? I taped it while I watched it. I loved watching it - brought back great memories of watching it on Sunday nights when I was a kid. Granted the shows they played were before my time - but still enjoyed watching them and Walt Disney!

Well I want to wish all my Cruise Mates a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

WDWEPCOT, your holiday traditions sound wonderful! So tasty, yum!:thumbsup2

Tom & I are going to a neighbor's house for Christmas. I'm bringing a pecan pie that I'll make tomorrow. Our family celebrated Thanksgiving together this year, we are going our own ways for Christmas.
