DVC Member Cards...

just curious - how long will it be after becoming a member before you get the cards in the mail? we got in disney's system and made our first ressie last week...can i expect to see them soon?

We received ours just a few days after closing. It was quick. Some have said it takes several weeks. We called and they told us the day they were mailed. Welcome Home and Congratulations

We closed in the middle of December and we didn't get our permanent cards until a few weeks ago. No idea why it took so long.

We closed in November and haven't received them yet. I called two weeks ago to inquire why it has taken so long and all MS said was that they will send out another set of cards. If I don't get them by tomorrow, I am calling back.

We closed the day after Thankgiving and we received ours just before our temps expired on 2/15. I mean just 2-4 days before they expired.

That was what I was hoping for. Our temps expired on Feb. 20. I am calling MS again tomorrow.

This time was much faster!

I closed on 02/08/06 and received the cards today. I wasn't in the system with points until 02/22/2006.

For some strange reason they also reissued my other 2 member ID cards, I didn't request that!

We closed on Dec. 30 and still have not received our cards. I called two weeks ago and they said they would send new ones, nothing yet. The temp cards expired yesterday and our trip is June 9th. I guess I will call again just to make sure we are all set before June.

Just an FYI for those who closed forever ago and still haven't received their member cards...I closed 14 weeks ago and still never received the cards. I am so fed up and I called twice to ask for replacements. One MS rep wasn't so helpful and the other said that she would request new cards and leave a comment in the request that I am unsatisfied with the service so that my cards get rushed from whoever DVC outsources to print the cards. She also told me to e-mail members@disneyvacationclub.com to complain in writing. So, for anyone who is in my position, get those fingers typing and claim what is rightfully yours!!! I am curious to see how quickly I get the cards. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Our closing was March 1st....we leave March 9th for our first trip home. All we have right now is our temp cards. Do you think we have a shot at getting our real ones before we leave??

I would be surprised if you got yours by March 9....only because it's been 14 weeks for me, and others have been waiting a while, too. The temps work just fine, but there is something about having a blue shiny card to call all your own...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and have fun in WDW!!!

We've had temporary cards since December (they expire the first of April) and I still don't have my permanent cards. I hope I get them soon.

OP here....just an update on OUR card situation....

we closed on FEB 9, were in the system on FEB 22, and just received our cards in the mail yesterday - MAR 2.....looks like we're on the same time schedule as 'greenban'....

sorry to hear that so many have not received their cards after so long a time. i guess we were lucky. good luck to all of you who are still waiting !

I received an e-mail yesterday from MS saying that they looked in my 14-weeks- and-waiting Member Cards, and they are on their way. MS expects them to arrive within a week or two....I'll let everyone know if they were true to their word.

I needed a new card after my wallet was stolen in nov 04. I was told that I would have new cards before we arrived for our Christmas 04 Trip. They didn't come. I called regualarly until March looking for our cards. Got all sorts of stories from MS. I called my sales person for help. She couldn't believe I was having this problem. She told me to call MS and ask for the managaer. I did and still didn't get the cards until June 05!!!

It may take time to get your cards because I know the promotion that DVC had going was keeping things busy. The cards are also coming from an out sourcing company--which is part of the problem. Disney is not handling the cards themselves anymore.

Update.....just received my card today....Apparently we had a Feb 22nd closing. I guess not a bad time frame....12 days. Also does DW get a card too? I just received 1 card with my name, her name is on the deed?????

Hmmmm...I wonder about that too. We haven't closed yet, but there are 4 names on the contract. Wouldn't we all get a card?

that does seem strange.....our cards just arrived on monday and DW and i both got one with our name on it.....

We closed just before Thanksgiving and still haven't received our cards. I emailed MS last week about it and they replied that new ones would be sent. We don't go again until September, so I'm not going to sweat it just yet.

We went home in January (the week before the Expedition Everest Preview) and had no problems using our temp cards.
