DVC member at Port Orleans?

Hubby and I are taking a weekend getaway & are not using our points. We're staying at Port Orleans - French Quarter for $85 a night!

My question is: Which DVC perks can we use with just our DVC member card when we AREN'T using points or a cash ressie thru DVC? Obviously my room key card is NOT going to say anything about being a DVC member but I'll have my DVC member card with me.

Can I pool-hop? Can I get DVC discounts on meals? Can I use the health clubs at DVC resorts for free?

Anyone know?

Pool hopping is out - you need to be staying at a DVC resort on points to do that.

You can use your DVC card to valet park for free at BWV, VWL or BCV. (A gratutity is always appreciated).

You can use your DVC Membership to get discounts on certain WDW tours, admission media (to the minor parks & PI), mini-golf and various other recreational opportunities.

There are quite a few things listed under Special Member Offers on the website that may be available to you. I am not sure about the fitness clubs or the dining discounts. According to the Members' website, there doesn't seem to be any requirement to be staying at a DVC resort onpoints to use those. FWIW, here is a copy of part of the note at the bottom of the Members' website:

My advice is that you check the website and then call and ask MS about the offers you might want to use during your PO stay.

To emphasize, all of the restaurant and activity discounts are available to DVC members whether staying or not. The ones you can't get are movie rentals and UPH 10%. No Pool Hopping technically but you never know.

I'd print the list off the website and take it with you. When you get there, go by one of the DVC resorts and ask for the discount info they provide. That way you'll have the pocket discount guide to tote with you. Good luck and enjoy.
