They were mailed out for a limited time with MagicBands for DVC point reservations.

I stopped by a DVC desk on our vacation last week. And because I couldn't find my slider, I asked if they had any more. She explained, that because there had been many non DVC people getting their hands on them somehow and trying to get discounts with them (stores, dining etc) that they discontinued them. I asked, well, they always ask for I.D as well as DVC card, she said they still were able to get the discounts. Some people just suck!

My guess, is when they attempted to show it for any given discount, they did not provide I.D or DVC card with it. She said many people attempted to use slider for discounts. Awful. Another great perk gone.

Maybe so, but I think that was just an excuse seeing as though they still have the AP sliders.

The DVC sliders were sent with MagicBands for all reservations made using DVC points with no regard to actual member status.
The AP sliders come with MagicBands for having the Passholder Affiliation.

And per policy, the slider is not proof of discount. The CM is supposed to ask for the card (ap/dvc/tiw/etc) and photo id.

When we checked into OKW last November we asked for them and they had some (2) "laying around" that they gave us.

We asked in Jan. and got some too.
We had a split stay for 7 a couple of years ago, so got a lot. Only 2 of us are members.
