DVC & Magic Band Questions

Myself and DW are staying at three different resorts later this year, how does the Magic Bands work with split resorts ?

We are at the three resorts for 16 days in total, given the costs its cheaper (unless anyone else knows better) to purchase a 21 day multi park hopper ticket. I know that you can link these to the My Disney Experience website, but as its showing three resorts, can I have a Magic Band that covers the whole park hopper ticket and the three resorts ?

Also as we have reserved restaurant bookings via customer services, I can't seam to add these to the My Disney Experience, as these were made in my DW's name, any help with this would be appreciated.

Also at checkin to the DVC resort, do they issue you with the Magic Band ? Would this mean that we end up getting three each ?

Thanks in Advance
Sam

Each separate reservation gets a Magic Band, so you will have 3. However, each band works the same. They just access your My Disney Experience profile/account, so if your 21 day ticket is connected to your account, any of the bands will know that and they can be used interchangeably for park entrance.

You should be able to add your ADRs using their reservation # per the instructions on MDE (there's an item that says "don't see your reservations? Add them..." If you tried that and it's not working you might need to talk to the IT support folks for the Magic Bands.

I think you are overseas? If so, last I knew, they don't ship the bands to you, but you will get them at check in.

Thanks Vicki,

This all makes sense, I've tried adding the ADRs via the MDE site, it sees them but won't add them to the profile. And yes, I'm not US resident, from the UK. I'll check with customer services and see if they can lift the block.

I was potentially looking at pre-purchasing a MagicBand, but could not see an option to add this to the MDE profile, do you or anyone else know if this can be done ?

Regards
Sam

I did a split stay last year over two resorts and ended up with 3 Magic Bands - one for my AP (which I got well before the others) and one each for my resort stays. I just picked one and used it the whole trip.

As far as the ADRs, I think it may be that you don't have a ticket yet assigned to the system. But a call to customer service should, at the very least, explain the issue if not resolve it. :thumbsup2

As you're from the UK, I don't know what your ticket options are but unless that 21 day ticket is a non-expiring one, it sure seems a shame to have so many extra days you can't use. With a 16 day trip, can you get a shorter length of time ticket and plan on one or two resort only days? Of course, I'm a big believer in getting the non-expiration option, so that would be a consideration if it's a possibility that you'll ever return.

Sam, why would you want to pre-purchase a band? As a resort guest, they are free to you and you will get them at check in. You don't need them prior to arrival.

Also, you don't need tickets attached to your account to make ADRs (definite on this) or connect ADRs (pretty sure on this one as well), so that's not your problem. You do need tickets connected to make FP+ reservations though.
