Anyone experience or remember DVC having a lounge area inside the parks. I remember one time in AK we were able to sit in a lounge area and play board games and checkers. Was just thinking about this the other day, anyone remember this or know if they still exist, I know I was young when we experienced this so I hope I'm not crazy lol :crazy2:

i never even heard of. one (so cant attest to your sanity either;)), but that is a really great idea! i would love a little oasis in each park where me
mbers could meet and just hang out.

I know there was a Passholder lounge in Epcot (in the Land Bldg) a few years ago (probably ten). I don't remember any DVC lounges though.

i don't remember a DVC lounge either, i've been looking through some of the old park maps we keep with our albums.

Turns out we did have a annual pass in 2002 and the lounge in AK was a annual pass lounge not DVC although for some reason I remember DVC signage

Yep, this would be a great idea on several levels. Not only would it be fun to convert one of the unused lounges in EPCOT for DVC member use, it could also be an area where prospective members could meet a guide and look at info/video/miniature resort layouts regarding DVC membership. It would also allow current members (some of DVC's best ambassadors) to mix with prospective buyers, telling tales of DVC fun and greatness! :goodvibes

<dons flame suit :smokin:> If DVC wanted to play out the benefits of direct purchase vs resale, then they could restrict access to those members with a direct point purchase contract in their portfolio, which would be a marketing point as well as provide visible proof of the benefits of ownership.

In another format, it could be a Disney guest VIP lounge, which may include AP holders, DVC members, Club 33 members (from DLR), and other VIP types (such as celebrities, those in the "expensive" resort rooms, those who hire a tour guide for the day, potential/smaller corporate sponsors, etc).

Weren't there/ aren't there at least one if not more AAA lounges as well? I thought I remember when I booked my first WDW trip through AAA that being in the literature...

Wow so there are passholder, AAA and corporate lounges but no DVC lounges something is very wrong with this :confused3

AAA and corporate lounges are sponsored by their respective companies, they are not just something nice that Disney does. DVC Marketing would need to pay Disney Parks for such a lounge, or DVC Members would need to approve a line item on their dues.

Passholder lounges come and go. Currently there is a Chase Cardmember lounge lounge in the old Wonders of Life bulding for anyone that has a Chase credit or debit card, as Chase is a Food and Wine sponsor. This lounge will disappear when F&W ends.

World of Motion used to have a small lounge on an upper floor that they'd occasionally open up the anyone that owned a GM product. I'm sure the lounge is still there in the Test Track building, but it probably hasn't been used in years.
