I was just browsing the boards at another site (shame on me). But someone brought up something that I have always wondered about. We have refinanced our house twice since purchasing DVC with full credit reports and our loan with DVC has never shown up on the reports. We have even purchased full credit reports for ourselves, to check things out, and again this loan has never shown up on any of the reports. Has anyone else found this to be true for them? Just wondering since this was the only thing that has never shown up on all of those reports.

I purchased DVC in May of 2000 and added on in Nov of 2000.

Recently ran a credit report on myself. No DVC mentioned at all.

Interesting......

Reporting is voluntary, not manditory. The credit union we do business with likewise does not report our auto loans.

However, you can be certain that if you were ever delinquent with DVC, that they would report it.

You might want to call and see which company WDW reports to. There are about 4 major credit bureaus and maybe they don't report to the same one you get your report from. I recently had to get my report (from Equifax) because some stupid person changed the address on MY credit card and sent it to someone else! We shared the same name and the person didn't check anything else but the names! No SS#, no CC#, no maiden name, nothing! I was not a happy camper at all! I didn't even want the card, hadn't used it in a year. So, I closed everything but two cards, just by calling Equifax back. They are handling everything. Well worth the $8/each for the report. Everyone should check their reports. There were some things on there that neither of us remember having.

Actually our guide told us when we were purchasing that, since they hold the mortgage privately, they do not report it to any agencies.

Disney does not report to any agencies regarding your loan with them, positvely or negatively.

We were also told when we joined that they do not report to any credit agencies, unless you do not pay your payments.

So does this tend to make the financing harder or easier? I mean are they stricter in how much you can have for outstanding debt or do they tend to be more flexible if you have additional sources of income; like rentals or investments <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

The fact that they do not report has no bearing on how your credit report looks to them. They don't report, but, they do pull credit reports on applicants.
Few are turned down, they will work with you.
