DVC "Key Opportunity" re OKW

Is DVC starting to push sales of OKW to existing members now that they're adding on the 15 years?

I received something in the mail regarding adding on to my OKW membership several months ago. Sounds like they have accumulated quite alot of OKW points thru ROFR.

And I'm not even an OKW owner. Sounds like they're expanding their sales push re OKW to more of the 350,000 DVC owners.

Wanted to add that I had called DVC directly to inquire about
buying and talked to them about OKW...Then I looked into
re-sale and bought a contract for 220 points and I am
anxiously waiting for ROFR...Since then, my guide has called
back and said that she knows that I am interested in OKW
and that she received a memo that starting on the 24th they
are selling contracts with the extension through 2057....(she
couldn't confirm a price, but said that it would be for more
than the current $92 (?) a point...

ouch...

now very nervous that my resale contract might be in grave
danger...I wonder how much inventory they are "collecting"
anticipating this new offering!!!

Since then, my guide has called back and said that she knows that I am interested in OKW and that she received a memo that starting on the 24th they are selling contracts with the extension through 2057....(she couldn't confirm a price, but said that it would be for more than the current $92 (?) a point...

DVC can't start selling the extended contracts since that hasn't even been approved yet.

The email I got says:

Current Member prices for an additional Ownership Interest start at $2,300 for a 25 Vacation Point Add-On for Disney's Old Key West Resort

That's the current $92/point with the existing 2042 expiration.

This is old news.

As I've posted before, in July they were having these get togethers at OKW. I attended one while there.

At the time, they said that many OKW owners were trading up to SSR or AKV and they (DVC) got the points via ROFR.

We stayed at OKW in April and rec'd the same message. We don't own there either. We tried to add-on to BWV and they didn't have any points there so we didn't bother with any. We thought about OKW and almost did and then decided to wait till next spring and see how we felt so now we are really glad we did not. I think we are all done with any more points because DVC seems to be changing too many rules. I don't trust them any longer.

I've already had OKW one contract I was buying get scooped up by ROFR. Right now I'm waiting to hear on another OKW conract. I think if this second one goes to Disney I'll probably settle for a SSR resale instead.

I wonder if they will offer to extend it for free when the votes passes if you buy through Disney at $92 per point. Just a thought...
