Have you met someone and discovered they are DVC members to?

Hubby had a funny thing happen to him this week. He wore his 100 years of Magic polo to work one day and another guy mentioned he liked his shirt. The other guy said they had recently gotten back. Hubby mentioned we had gone in Sept. The conversation continued and soon it was said that we are both DVC members. They just returned from BCV.
My first question to hubby was, Whats there home resort, but he didn't think to ask. This was on Tuesday the same day we booked our next DVC vacation!

And, yesterday when I found out that Alaska Airlines starts Non-stop service to Orlando from Seattle this month, Hubby asked this guy if he had heard the news. Apparently his son had called him at work to tell him.

Sounds like this family knows how to vacation!

YES!!!

We purchased last March and sometime around May or June I went out to an employer group to do a benefits fair. (I work for an HMO and I go into employer groups, set up a table and answer questions when people ask why they should join our HMO over another)

Well there was a gentleman working for one of our competitors at the table next to mine, and he was wearing a Mickey Flag pin. I commented on it and he told me he owned DVC. Thankfully not many employees showed up to talk to us that day and we were able to spend the next two hours discussing DVC! I've seen him once since then and we spent time in between talking to employees discussing DVC again. Chances are good I'll run into him again, and I'm looking forward to it!:)

I've run into a few people who are DVCr's. You do end up yacking it up for a while. We even got a few friends to sign up too!

Yep, our childrens Sunday school teacher is a DVC member. She saw my old license plate (DISNYDAD) and asked if it was Disney related.

A year ago we were at a restaurant and overheard a DVC conversation at the table next to us. We introduced ourselves.

I was at a party at a cousin's house. When I went upstairs to use the bathroom I saw the Member guidebook in their loft. Turns out they own at OKW.

DH and I were wanting to run some speaker wires through the ceiling. Called an electrical company and got to talking...he said he just returned from WDW. I mentioned that I was a DVC member, he said he was too. I've emailed his wife a few times. We're planning to get together (with DHs) for dinner soon. Just trying to find the time. She said he ran into a DVCer in the checkout line at a grocery store! It's a Small World After All....

Danicaw- we were pretty excited when we saw the news about the nonstop on Alaska too. I have never run into any other DVC people in this neck of the woods and for that matter any other people that seem as excited about WDW as my husband and I are, so it is good to know that there are other Seattle people out there who feel the same way!

Wonder if Alaska will paint up another 737-400 to match the Spirit of Disneyland. They are the 1st US carrier to paint up a plane with a Disney theme.Spirit of Disneyland

We were doing a crew change in LAS and a passenger in 1st class noticed my DVC sticker on my flightcase. He was an owner at BW and we gabbed away for 10mins. Had to run to the next gate. The next time you wonder why your flight is late....;)

My DD (15) has been chatting on-line with a young man from Virginia for several months... we e-mailed him a pic from Epcot when we were there over Christmas and they got into a "my parent is more of a Disney-nut than your parent" exchange. A couple of weeks ago he told her he was going to WDW around New Year's and they'll be at OKW... and we'll be at BCV at the same time.

We have been going to church with some folks for around 5 years now. Our DD and their DD are in Sun school together and have become good friends. We made our 1st trip to WDW in Dec 99 and have been fanatics ever since. Our DD and their DD made an instant connection because of that Disney bond. We started asking her folks about their trips to WDW and found out they go 2 or 3 times a year.

We bought in to DVC last year in Jan. We started putting 2 and 2 together and figured these folks were DVC members also(that many trips a year threw up a red flag for us). So one day back in the fall I just asked"Are you guys DVC members"? I think I caught them a little off guard but I quickly added that we were new members that still hadnt made our 1st trip home yet. We find out they are not only DVC members they are veterans for sure. They were among the first to buy back in 92. Needless to say a strong friendship has matured since that fateful day.

Was on a business trip a few years ago in Jacksonville, FL. I was riding the water taxi across the river and there was a man with his daughter on the boat. We were the only passengers so I said "Hi" to him and his daughter. We started talking and I found out he was from IL too and he was also a DVC member owning at BWV. Just like you said, wow what a small world.

hi: one of my co-workers was talking about putting in for time off for his vacation and stated that he and his wife absolutely love wdw. then he told me he was a dvc member and was amazed that i knew what he meant. even funnier, it turns out we both own at bwv.

We also met another DVCer. MY DD cheers on an allstar team with another girl and I got to talking with her parents. Lo and behold, both our second "homes' are OKW.

It is a Small World and I knew there was a reason I liked this family!!

Also, my DH's accountant's "home" is OKW!!

It's funny because my friend/boss is a DVC member for several years and my DH decided last Feb to join before selling out at the VWL. He just had to have that resort under his belt to call home. Anyway, we live in Florida and it is really funny, we haven't met anyone else except for my friend that is a member. We have tried to meet people and possibly hook up, but no go.

Although ,we have told a couple of co-workers about DVC in our jobs. Even had the info sent to them with the possiblity of joining. My DH and I would love to meet up with DVC members.

Danicaw...

WE are Seattleites too! I hadn't heard about Alaska going to Orlando....that's awesome! We don't know anyone who is DVC here.....we did turn some friends on to DW....but they all think we are nuts for going back again and again....our next trip is not til October.....

take care.....Amee

I'm a pharmaceutical rep, and one of my customers turned out to be a member. Funny thing was, I never made any progress with him until we found out we had that in common.

Also, about this time last year, DW, DD and I were getting boarding passes for a flight to Phoenix. The couple in front of us both had their Mickey flag member pins on. Turns out they were headed to OKW for 10 days.

My mailman is a DVC member. We will periodically chat about Disney/DVC. I found out when he brought my PAPs to the front door. He knew what they were, and asked if we were DVC members.

Last weekend, one of the dads at the YMCA pool was talking about going to Disney World and says he goes every year. Turns out he just bought at BCV. We know at least 4 other families here in Johnstown...OKW and BWV owners, I believe.
