we are here now for a large group vacation 17. 4 DVC rooms (3) studios, and a 2 bedroom. SSR. 2 of the 4 rooms got trash and towel day, our guests in 1 of the studios were told that they had to pay for a towel package. Um no. I went to the front desk and at first the manager said it wasn't our day. Yes it is day 4. We finally got clean towels at 7:30pm. Another of our guests asked for a ok of coffee, was told that will be$3???? Manager said that has always been the policy. What? I have owned DVC since 2003 and have never paid for coffee. Anyone else run into this issue?
 
Yes we have, reported issues like this to DVC management, resort management, over the years and nothing changes. One of the reasons that we are disillusioned with the DVC. Eventually with time all owners will experience issues with the DVC or with their resort.

Coffee should be included with Trash & Towel Service. From the member website:

Laundry and Housekeeping Services

Disney Vacation Club Resorts offer laundry and housekeeping services. Daily housekeeping service is not provided for Members.

A 24-hour self-service laundry room is available at each Disney Vacation Club Resort. There are also dry-cleaning and valet laundry services. Villas with one or more bedrooms feature an in-unit washer and dryer.

Trash & Towel Service
For stays of 7 nights or fewer, Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 4, regardless of whether you're staying on a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points reservation, or a combination of both.

With Trash & Towel Service, Housekeeping will:

  • Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins
  • Provide fresh bathroom linens
  • Replace bath amenities as needed
  • Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper
  • Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners
Full-Cleaning Service
For stays of 8 or more nights, Full-Cleaning Service is provided on day 4 and Trash & Towel Service is provided on day 8, regardless of whether you're staying on a Member-discounted cash reservation, Vacation Points reservation, or a combination of both. This cycle repeats for stays longer than 8 days.

With Full-Cleaning Service, Housekeeping will provide everything included with the Trash & Towel Service, plus:

  • Change the bed linens
  • Vacuum and dust the vacation villa
  • Clean the bathroom(s)
  • Clean the kitchen/kitchenette and wash the dishes
Rental Guests (non-Members or Disney Vacation Club Members not booking through Membership) receive Full Cleaning Services every day.

For all of the above, additional Housekeeping Services may be purchased.

Additional Housekeeping Service Daily Rates:
  • Deluxe Studio: $30 per day requested
  • 1-Bedroom Villa: $45 per day requested
  • 2-Bedroom Villa: $60 per day requested
  • Treehouse Villa: $60 per day requested
  • 3-Bedroom Grand Villa - $75 per day requested
Additional Trash & Towel Service Rates:
  • Deluxe Studio: $15 per day requested
  • 1-Bedroom Villa: $20 per day requested
  • 2-Bedroom Villa: $25 per day requested
  • Treehouse Villa: $25 per day requested
  • 3-Bedroom Grand Villa: $35 per day requested
Pay As You Play
With Pay As You Play service, you'll be provided with the following amenities at no extra charge at the start of your stay and during each Housekeeping service. After that, you may purchase more amenities for the following fees (fees are subject to change):

  • Toiletries Package: $5 - includes 1 facial soap, 1 bath soap, 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 shower gel
  • Coffee Package: $3 - includes 1 package of coffee, 8 sugars, 8 creamers, 8 artificial sweeteners
  • Towel Package: $6 - includes 4 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 4 washcloths, 1 bath mat
  • Laundry Detergent (only in 1-, 2- and 3-Bedroom Villas, and Treehouse Villas): $1 - includes 1 box for 1 load of laundry
 
I have had very similar problems at Kidani-on Trash and Towel day, I got nothing replenished and when I talked to management there, they said "Trash and Towel means just that-we do trash pick up and clean towel. Anything else-shampoo, coffee and supplies, toilet paper, etc.-you pay." So I called MS with then to find out the policy, and if it was that, when was that change? A few minutes later a very apologetic looking housekeeper was at my door offering me all supplies.

We got daily housekeeping the one and only time we rented a discounted room through Member services. Is this a change in policy or did the resort we stayed at do it wrong?

Shhh! Just consider yourself the lucky recipient of a resort's poorly-informed housekeeping. Over the last 5+ years, we've stayed at HHI on cash discounted stays many times and we always get T&T on day #4, just like points. Come to think of it, I stayed at BCV on discounted members' cash over 10 years ago and got T&T just like I was staying on points.

If the cash stay is booked through MS (whether it is discounted or not), the reservation should be treated as though it were a points reservation. All other cash stays should receive daily housekeeping.

IMO, administration of the resorts' housekeeping varies by resort and is far from perfect at any of them.

A few years ago, we got upgraded to a pool view 1 bedroom at BWV' from a standard view 1 bedroom. When we checked in, I had been told what my cash "balance" was. I mentioned I was booked on points. So obviously something was wrong on their end. However, we did get daily housekeeping as if we were cash guests. Never a problem with points or anything.
 
My son had to call housekeeping on day 7. We returned in the evening and they had not done towels and trash?????? I am not sure why this has happened now 3. Times on this trip

Are you getting daily service for some reason? If DVC you get service every 4 days, day 4, day 8, day 12.

We just got back from a 7-night stay at Kidani. As we left the room on day four, we threw all of the used towels on the bathroom floor. Well, my daughter felt ill and ended up staying in the room. When mousekeeping came, she couldn't understand what they were saying, so mousekeeping left.

So, we came back to wet, dirty towels. The front desk was able to have towels sent up to the room; T&T was also rescheduled for the next day.

We didn't get any additional bath amenities the following days, even though we were nearly out of shampoo in both bathrooms. We made it through, but it shows how inconsistent mousekeeping is when it comes to what T&T entails.

Owner dues pays housekeeping millions of dollars, you would think that they could get it right. We keep complaining to DVC about housekeeping, have been for years but nothing seems to change. Apparently fishing tournaments and bowling are more important.

No housekeeping services are scheduled for Day 7 of a DVC stay.

What were your scheduled arrival and departure dates? Were all 4 of the rooms booked for the same duration, or did some parties arrive on different dates? Any of them a combination of cash/points stays?

I hate to say that we've never had problems with housekeeping but seems pretty rare in my recollection. Main problem we've noticed is that if we leave the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, we tend to get skipped. Can't fault housekeeping for honoring the DND request.

We stayed ar Kidani on rented points once and the back-end system messed up while we were checking in. They had to convert our reservation to "cash" and manually run the points on the back end after checkout. Because of this we got daily housekeeping and were not charged. The person from whom we rented reported no problems to us upon checkout and processing of their points.
