Where can I find the incentives that will be given when buying DVC on a cruise. I would like to try and plan my cruise with regards to the incentives being offered.

I don't think that you will know what incentives are being offered until you either get on the cruise or someone posts who just got back.

Incentives change all the time. Typically, what is offered on the cruise is a bit better than what is being offered at the time to everyone.

Good luck!!

It's not just the types of incentives you've already mentioned but also other "deals." DH & I cruised the last week of Oct. '09 and learned that we could book this year's TransAtlantic cruise for a substantially discounted amount of points. We had to book within 3 days of leaving the ship. It was too good a deal to let go so we're going on the WB TA in Sept. Keep asking the DVC folks. Kara was especially helpful!
During our cruise they were offering great deals for add-ons. Wish we were in the market for more points. Not for us at this time, sad to say.

Good to hear. I am ready to add on soon....so if the deal is right!!

DVC seemed to be offering the same incentives on both the 7nt cruise we took in mid-December, and the 4nt January cruise we just got off of yesterday. The incentives included $15-$19 off per point (depending on number of points purchased), shared closing costs, full allocation of 2009 points with prorated 2009 maintenance fees, and Feb use year.

They also had a drawing for a $300 on board credit at each DVC presentation, and I was lucky enough to win the on board credit at one of the presentations on our January cruise!!

Is this also true regarding add-ons? Do the incentives tend to be better on the ship?

On our 2009 cruise there was a better incentive offered...but you had to add-on quite a large number of points in order to take advantage. It was something like 300-400 points (add-on) to get a deal better than was being offered to the general public at the time. Anything under that large threshold (sorry can't remember the exact amount) was the same deal available anywhere.

along with the points savings, last week they were also giving a year of points as bonus and EIGHT annual passes that could be activated at any time.

Others we spoke to on the ship said the cruise is the best deal through Disney. Depending on how much of a potential savings it is vs how much extra you may pay for a cruise, it may not matter. We go on cruises in Jan because it is so much cheaper. Savings thousand or more on the cruise makes the biggest difference.
