DVC in NY Post 5/19

don't think I remember seeing this sort of DVC info article in this newspaper before ..... I'd have thought they'd mention LI Doorway to Dreams too that's opening this summer.

Yeah, if I worked for a newspaper, I'd probably be bitter at the sight of other flourishing businesses, too.

I don't have a problem with the article. It's all basically true: It's best for people who only vacation at Disney year after year, and the ROI using your points outside the system ain't all that great.

From a New Yorker's point of view...

We've learned to overlook or "take with a grain of salt" everything that's in our printed media or news broadcasts. They probably have nothing better to do these days! The only other things going on in our city/state are...

Swine flu cases and school closings
Foiled terror plot
State Budget crisis
Mass transit 'doomsday' price increases
Governor that's the laughing stock of the state
Brad and Angelina all over Long Island (who cares)
etc, etc, etc.

So as you can see, it's the logical thing to undermine our beloved DVC!

I thought they raised some fair points, and that it was a reasonably balanced article. DVC really does encourage you to keep coming back to Disney to the (partial) exclusion of other trips, and using your points for anything other than DVC accomodations really *is* a pretty hideous deal. Granted, as DVC continues to expand (DL, Hawaii, maybe eventually Paris... who knows?), this will be less of an issue.
