DVC Holiday Events for Members 12/24 and 1/1/17

Looks like DVC will be hosting a couple of events in the Fantasia Ballroom at the Contemporary Resort:

1. Saturday, 12/24/16, 3-5pm - Mickey's Christmas Carol with buffet, Disney characters, and a DJ, $68.60/adults and $30.50/kids (not including tax/tips). Can start booking on 9/29/16 by calling MS.

2. Sunday, 1/1/17, 11am-1pm - New Year's Day Brunch buffet with visits from characters, magicians, crafts and activities for children and en event photographer, $53.95/adults and $29.95/kids (not including tax/tips). Can start booking on 10/6/16 by calling MS.

Reservations required. Full payment at time of booking.

Sounds nice. But does the price seem a little steep? Anyone care to share your thoughts or experiences?

My cousin and family ( with grandchildren) are doing Thanksgiving's offering. With children, they feel it was a better deal than having children sit at tables, this includes characters and activities.

We are a couple, and I'm just considering it, for the experience, yes it seems expensive. Thinking about the NY day one. No discounts for TIW available for that day anyway.

As usual, the "member benefit!" benefits only those members who booked 7+ months out. It's not like pivoting to go to these after announcing is going to be all that feasible for most given availability 3 months out.
