DVC get-together on cruise - can we bring a guest?

My MIL is planning on cruising with my husband, son and I next Dec. If we go to the DVC get-together on board can my MIL come as our guest? Im assuming my son can come along too.

We went last week to the reception on the ship. I don't think it would be a problem at all. They gave away some "Member" hats, but that would be the only thing she might not get. Otherwise its fun and a good chance to see all the other DVCers on board.

It shouldn't be a problem to bring MIL. I agree your son would rather be elsewhere, lol! Both times I went, I brought the person I was cruising with, who is not a dvc member. Nobody asked or seemed to care who was coming in - they don't check for your invitation or anything like that.

On the 7 day cruise, they have two DVC get-togethers. One is for members, one is for people who are interested in joining (members are also welcome.)

The member meet was packed. I would discuss it with the DVC rep first. I'm sure that they won't think that it's a problem, but it never hurts to ask.

When we went in May we brought my MIL and FIL to the party with us. It was a great way for them to learn a little about DVC. We also gave them a week down at Vero and they loved it so much they asked if we were buying more points and said they would chip in. They don't want points on their own since they don't think they'll get the long term use on them (they are 55 and 62) and don't have that much cash. Right now we can't afford more points, but we bought what we did so they could enjoy it as well. In fact we are taking them down to Boardwalk for a week with us in a 2 bedroom next Oct.

DizMarie - you can go if you are a DVC member, doesnt matter how you paid for the cruise.

At ours they took a poll to see who was cruising on points and it was less than half or about half.

Do they have the DVC reception on the 4 day, or only the 7 day cruise? Does anyone know?
