DVC "free refill for life" mug

On another thread there was a picture of a DVC mug (white with a green lid in the photo I saw) which had "free refills for life" printed on the bottom. Is this still offered?

Sorry. I don't remember any such offering, but I do know that nothing like that is offered today.

That was from ZZubb's trip report and it was a altered picture meant to be a joke. When he purchased a mug the cm told him that the mug had free refills for life so he started the Disney Mug Vacation Club.

You know...when we first started going to the Caribbean Beach Resort, about 18 years ago that was what we were told...that the mugs were good for life. They even changed the mugs and we were told we could use the older ones. The CM's would always comment, "You guys have been coming a long time...we can tell by your mugs!"

What we need is a DVC Bottomless Beer Mug.

We got a mug @ OKW in March (white w/ red lid & logos of each DVC). We were told it was good at all locations. We used it in May @ Saratoga. We even saw quite a number of the same mugs @ VBR.

I wish they were good for beer & coctails, unfortunately we've only used it for lemonaide!

When I bought a mug at Dixie Landings in 2000 (when it was still Dixie Landings) I specifically remember the cast member ringing it up using the phrase "liquids for life" when describing how the refills work. I don't know whether the policy has changed since then or if the cast member was just incorrect in describing it. I still have the mug, but since I'm a DVC member now, there probably won't be much chance of staying back there again to use it.

I agree! I've been reading his trip reports from his last few trips and almost look forward to his trips as much as I do our own... Wonderful person and excellent writer!
