I would love DVC perks to include complimentary Genie+ LL, but sadly that won't happen. The price of the Sorcerer AP is a bit more AND you have to pay extra for the MM but supposedly the renewal of MM is less than $99 when you renew.

I am hoping to at least get a discount on the MM when I renew my pass for my October trip.
I wish that they would at least do one LL pass for onsite guests at value resorts, 2 for moderate and 3 for deluxe resorts. Not the paid one but the "front of the line" rides.
Or they could let onsite guests into the park one hour early instead of the 30 minutes.
If they are not bring TIW back, a 20% discount on food/alcohol for DVC would be great.
That is my short DVC wish list - as far as membership extras go....
When you activate a Gold Pass (even after 9/8), you will be issued a Gold Pass.If you are within the 60 day renewal, call and do it before Sept 8th. You’d be eligible to renew at the Gold price, and when you activate the voucher, it will include the MM for free when you are given the Sorcerer pass

So, apparently DFB is reporting the same thing. Are they going to match the block out dates from the Gold Pass, or enforce the Sorcerer Pass block out dates. Gold blocks out Easter, while the Sorcerer blocks out Thanksgiving. If you are within the 60 day renewal, call and do it before Sept 8th. I called and I had to buy tickets to may the park reservations. Member services could have and should have let me renew early in April but I guess they had a new person? If you are within the 60 day renewal, call and do it before Sept 8th. Hey @Sandisw. After many many hours on the phone being transferred and speaking to 5 cast members, I am happy - no ecstatic! That I have been successful in using the value of my 5 day park tickets towards my DVC Gold pass renewal!!!If you are within the 60 day renewal, call and do it before Sept 8th. I paid $190 total for both of our passes. The value of the tix was 1104 i think.
ONE of the cast members was able to confirm what you posted earlier. When we activate our passes at guest services, we will get a Sorcerer pass and free memory maker.
We were going to use the value of the tickets and renew at guest services but that wouldn’t work because of the new passes being released (I didn’t want to pay more for less).
Disney hasn't released anything that gives any indication that resort guests will get any additional benefits.Do we know for certain that hotel (deluxe/dvc) will not get some benefit with Genie+ or Lighting Lane (per ride pay) options?
Haven't been following closely enough yet.

Resort guests will have have a slight advantage (7am vs park open) when reserving the additional, paid per ride LLDisney hasn't released anything that gives any indication that resort guests will get any additional benefits.
This advantage could be significant for those who are desperate to ride Rise of the Resistance.Resort guests will have have a slight advantage (7am vs park open) when reserving the additional, paid per ride LL
I think there are too many guests in staying in Disney’s deluxe and DVC resorts to include it.This advantage could be significant for those who are desperate to ride Rise of the Resistance.
Still, based on current rumors, it’s going to cost a family of four $80-$100 for this advantage.
I’m a little surprised Disney didn’t include Genie+ in the price of Deluxe Resorts as a way to (cheaply) be more competitive with Universal’s Deluxe Resorts.
It appears Disney really thinks Guests will pay any price to stay at their Deluxe Resorts.
All Genie+ does is let you get a FastPass return time.I think there are too many guests in staying in Disney’s deluxe and DVC resorts to include it.
All Genie+ does is let you get a FastPass return time.
Back when it was called FastPass, EVERYONE had access to FastPass, including those staying offsite.
DVC and Deluxe Resorts are only a fraction of WDW Guests. There are not too many DVC and Deluxe Resort Guests.
What’s really happening here is that Disney executives think that if someone is willing to pay more than $500 per night for a room, they’ll going to be willing to pay $60 more (for a family of four) for Genie+.
This is all about money, not the number of Guests at DVC or Deluxe Resorts.
Give it time. I doubt it will be in the next few months - they have plenty of incentives with the 50. But this is a brand new re-invention of FP and ride access, onsite perks, and deluxe resort incentives.
DVC does not get "given" perks from on high. They have to negotiate for them with the other business units. Kinda a "you scratch our back, we will scratch yours". They will need time to negotiate for any perks, and I doubt that the Parks BU will want to negotiate until they understand better what Genie+ is, how it affects their business, how many guests purchase it, and where it is most beneficial.
I would not be surprised however if after they get a feel for this whole program and how it changes their dynamics if they negotiate some benefit with DVC. But again, that's going to take a little time. Just be patient.
If everyone who had FP+ purchases Genie+, then the entire system falls apart. For Genie+ to work the way they want it to work, they need a limited number of people to create a separate class of citizen. People may not want to hear it, but there it is.
Disney does not want EVERYONE to purchase Genie+. They do not even want all the Deluxe and DVC to have it. They want to create an upper middle class tier.
As you note, $15 is not going to discourage a lot of Guests.I think Disney would love to have everyone purchase Genie+, that would maximize their profit. Given the price point they set it at, a lot of people will be buying it.
