DVC exchange to Scottland

DH and I are thinking of planning trip to Scottland in 2011/2012. Has anyone used their DVC to visit Scottland? Looking for feedback on the accomadations and things to do/places to visit...TIA

I haven't traded but I can tell you some things to do. Visit Edinburgh, (I stayed at a hostel) and roam around there. Edinburgh castle is very big and pretty. The crown jewels were buried there during WW2.

We also visited Glasgow for dinner, didn't have much to do because it seemed like the whole city shut down around 6pm. Getting around is very easy though. If you have any questions about some things to do, send a PM, I can try to help. I was only there for about 2 days for the British Open in '09 before I went to London so my knowledge may be a touch limited.

If you can, go to Edinburgh during the Summer Festival! We still love to watch the video of the Military Tatoo. It's a great time to be there....roughly most of August.

I second the Military Tattoo in late July and August. Also walk the Royal Mile between Edinburg castle and Holyrood Abbey, there is lots to see between.
