I suspect I'm as confused as the next person. The two reservations on points would have been totally separate under different reservation numbers. IF both reservations were cancelled at BWV, someone messed up. If so, and I felt the fault was not at all mine, I'd stick to my guns that I had a valid reservation. While they cannot give you what they don't have, it appears they may have essentially booked someone else into you're friends reservation. If that is the case, the last person to make a reservation should be the one holding air if they can't find a suitable alternative.
However, I wonder if you're friend didn't actually give them permission to cancel assuming they were offering both at BCV. Let us know what happens.
