I'm baffled as to why you're not finding availability at SSR, that's usually got villas available with even a few months of lead time. Or are you trying to book at another resort? How far in advance of your travel dates are you trying to book? Timeshare owners tend to make reservations farther in advance than hotel guests do, so resorts fill quickly. You really need to use those booking windows.
Members often book their home resort at 11 months if they're trying to go during a busy time, so they at least have a reservation, even if they want to try to switch to another resort when the 7 month window opens.
No way would 100 points get you a week in a one bedroom at any resort. Did you look at the
point charts before buying? Did the guide have the impression that you'd be going every other year, so you'd have 200 points to work with for each trip? That might not get you seven nights in most seasons, but it should get you six nights at SSR, or OKW.
If you bought SSR direct through Disney, chances are that you paid much more than the contract will sell for at resale, so selling may not be the best option for you. I'd spend some time looking over these boards, and learning how to use your membership.
As for the point shortage, look at the point charts. Figure out how many points you really need for the trips you want to take. Then, you can....
- add on points to get the amount you need, or..
- buy one-time-use points from MS to extend your trips, or...
- get a transfer from another member, or ....
- rent points from a member, or one of the services like
DVC by Request, to extend your trips.
