We will be staying with our DVC points for the first time in Oct. I've read a few bits about dining discounts with DVC, but I cannot find any details on it. Are there certain restaurants that offer it or is it everywhere? Are there any other types of discounts that DVC is eligible for? We have 2 rooms, one for friends... will they be eligible for the discounts too? Thanks!!

When you check into your DVC resort, you'll get a copy of Portable Perks which lists all the current DVC discounts and perks available during your trip.

Guests of members staying with the member are usually entitled to most of the member perks, except for valet parking (you need a blue member card for that) and the AP discount.

There's a Perks section on the DVC member web site -- may take some hunting around following links. It is rather limited, usually 10% where it's offered, often only for lunch. There are other perks besides dining (La Nouba, for one, I think there may be 10% off at WOD). When you go to a restaurant, you can "lay all your cards on the table" -- TIW card, AP, DVC card, and the server should know which one will work for the best discount. For example, I thought that Yak and Yeti took the TIW card, but they're a Landry restaurant, and they don't. But, like T-Rex, they do offer a 10% discount to DVC members (including dinner). It can get really complicated!

Thanks for the info... I'll dig around on the site and will try to remember to ask at restaurants. We do have ressies for T-Rex, and it's not covered under the DDP, so this will help!

The main perks we use are the AP didcount (which allows TIW), valet parking, and free parking at the parks (not DVC per se, but all on site guests).
