DVC discount on Party tickets

Just wondering when I'd need to buy party tickets for Halloween with my DVC discount. I am not sure I want to go to the party...so I was hoping I could decide when I am in Disney. If I purchase them online a few days before the party can I still get the DVC discount???[ We are going Oct 15-22nd...I don't think I'll have to worry about the party selling out.

I don't know if your dates are eligible for the discount, it's generally the earlier parties. If you go to the member website it will list the exact dates that we can get a discount for... as for how

We would be going during non premium time so I think we'd get the discount but I wasn't sure if I needed to buy them far in advance to get it.

Remember only certain nights have discounts. Generally the only nights that sell out in advance are Halloween, sometimes Columbus weekend, and some Fridays. Sometimes they offer discounts on certain nights and if the other nights don't sell, they may add more days to the discount nights. (I think that happened last year). The nights that have a DVC discount are also the same nights at the AP discount and the CM discounts, so they can be busy, but not Halloween night busy.

BLT 15 to 18. Waitlisted at BCV for the rest but I will get a room booked as a backup. If it doesn't work out then we will cancel our trip :-(

We just joined DVC so I didn't book BLT at the 11 month since we didn't know yet where/when we want to go

They advertise it as $10 off but that is off the full price. It's only about $4 off the advance purchase price. Prices last year:

Prices for the 2010 party are as follows (all prices listed include tax):

Advance Purchase: $57.46 for adults 10 and older / $51.07 for ages 3-9*

Passholder and DVC Member Discounts: $53.20 / $46.81*

Day of Event (if still available): $63.85 /$57.46

*Not available October 29 and 31. Those two dates are priced at a premium: $69.17 (ages 10 and up) and $62.78 (ages 3-9), tax included.

That is what I will do since we can have up to 2 waitlist, right? If none of the waitlist comes through by a certain date then we will cancel. We will just try again next year.

BTW, we are thinking of doing MNSSHP on 10/16 if we make it. That way we would still be at BLT. I know that we have to buy tickets for the party but I am not sure if we will also be using 1 park pass for that or not. If yes, then we will go to MK during the day as well. If not, we may just stay in the resort and relax at the pool.

What dates are you looking at for MNSSHP?

I think if we go we will go on Friday 21st(our last day). We have decided that we are def doing Universal for one day and are going to decide last minute to do the party (while we are in disney). I really hate to spend that 200$ on party tickets...think I'd rather spend it going to Universal I know...its wrong I only need to buy tickets for the girls...hubby and I have them already.

btw you can just use your party ticket to enter MK after 4pm..then you don't have to use another ticket. We usually have a chill day the day of parties.
