DVC Discount on DCL Cruises on Wish in Aug/Sept 2025

The deal isn’t very good. We are on the magic late August and our rate with the 10% off OBB discount is basically equivalent to the guarantee rate on the wish.

The Magic is always cheaper than the Wish the cheapest ship in the fleet. From an apples to apples standpoint the VGT rate is 22% off the cheapest regular price verandah on the same sailing plus an additional $250 in OBC. I think most people would consider that a pretty good deal.

Are you looking at an apples to apples comparison? Which is hard to do with different ships I know but can I ask what stateroom type you were booked on for the Magic?

I’m a bit surprised that you do not find it a good deal. I booked the 5 Night Magic Sept sailing with placeholder almost a year ago and I still find this to be a great rate.

My cost for 5 night on the Magic Sept was $2105 for 2A in an inside sideways stateroom (before applying the $250 I paid for the placeholder but factoring the 10% off) - makes it around $420 per night.

The Wish Sept sailing I just added on I booked an OGT room 2A for $1855 plus was given the $250 in onboard credit. It’s a better room on a newer ship and works out to around $465 per night before factoring in the stateroom credit (factoring that in it’s actually $400 per night for 2A)

So in reality it's only an OBC of $250. Anyone can book a Guaranteed Stateroom with Restrictions category when available.

Sorry if I was dismissive. I agree it is a great rate, but I was surprised to find it wasn’t great enough to get us to switch. We are paying $860 a night (4 people 2 insides) on the magic. And if we switch it will cost us $838 a night, $775 a night if you subtract the $250 on board credit from overall price. This is for the four of us in one verandah on the wish. Two insides were not available, although it looks like on the wish 2 insides would have cost more than one verandah. I cannot verify that because it says rooms not available. It is for the same week. Today would be the last day we could change no penalty. We are fine with either 2 insides or a verandah. The thing is we would be going from a 5 night to a 4 night cruise and from both private islands to one, and almost $100 a night isn’t enough to push us to do that in our case because it’s only about a 10% savings. If it was 25 or 30% or more we would probably switch.

Yes, but it’s been a while since they’ve had 30% off FL sailings for restricted GT rates. Last year or so it’s been normally 20-25% off.
I don't know about that we've traveled GT rates with restrictions 3 or 4 times and these rates are pretty close to the discount we received. A quick check for the September 1st Wish cruise for 2 shows a GT veranda with restrictions for $2086 with a deluxe family veranda at full price for $3102. Are you saying DVC gets more of a discount than that? If not then it's not a discount exclusive to DVC.

I just got a quote for two Port Canaveral Veranda cruises at net $2013.84 and another $250 credit for Disney Visa. Four nights departing 9/8/25 or 9/12/25 for 2 adults. The 30% is a DVC discount. SWA flights NS are only 6500 points OW for days that work BONUS!

If I use Disney Visa do I also get 6 months 0%? DH said go for it, but I did not budget this and 6 months would make it work for my checkbook LOL!

Yes, if you use a Disney visa you get the six months interest free financing.

That discount rate you’re quoting is actually available to the general public. It’s a restricted GT rate but you get the $250 in stateroom credit for being DVC or for using your Disney visa. It is still a really good deal. I just don’t want you to think the 30% off is on top of the public GT rates.

I’m not saying that the 30% off is an exclusive to DVC discount. I’m saying 30% off is a good restricted GT rate from Florida. It’s been a while since they have offered that percentage off. I believe that you absolutely might have paid similar prices to what we’re seeing with that discount in the past because prices have risen on cruises quite a bit.

The $250 in stateroom credit isn’t even DVC exclusive either. It is a DVC offer or a Disney visa offer and get it. You can use one or the other, but you cannot stack them. Personally, I would recommend people use the Disney visa and get the six months interest free financing, but that’s just me.

however, people who like to buy discounted Disney gift cards might prefer the DVC discount that way they can pay with discounted gift cards. I always find that particularly risky during hurricane season because I found out most travel insurance does not consider gift cards as a refundable form of payment… But YMMV.

Thanks for the tips! I have my DGC's but will save for "other" expenses lol!
