DVC Discount on AP Question (Renewals)

Do we get a discount on renewals as well as new AP's? How much? I have never renewed my AP (usually get one every other year when most of my Disney trips take place) but I'm thinking about it this time since we are planning a short trip in May. I'll do it if it's cost effective. How do you go about renewing?

Yes, discounts are good on renewals. Just go to guest services at any one of the parks (or DD) and they will handle it right there.

Thanks. But I won't be at DW before or near the expiration time of my current AP. Where can I do to get it?

That may be a question for DVC. For the non-discounted AP renewals, you'll typically have no problem renewing 30-60 days after the expiration of the pass. But the start date of the renewal will always be back-dated to the end of your prior pass.

If it's going to be any longer than that before you return, there's little reason to take the renewal discount due to the back-dating. You're better off paying full price (less DVC discount) for a new AP and having it run for a full 365 days.
