I think I was reading that as DVCers, we are offered discounts at the other resorts? If so does that include the camping?

I'm trying to figure how to best make this work for my family & I was thinking that financially it would be great to drive down (from Canada with 3 young boys :scared1:) for 10 days at the Campground & then use our DVC pts for another 10 day resort trip in January. This way we can get decent use out of our APs too.

Sorry just the ramblings of DVCer wannabe. ;)

There are no DVC discounts at any non-DVC resort. You are able to get 25% discounts on DVC Villas booked for cash through Member Services.

Do you have an Annual Pass? You may be able to get an AP discount.

If we take the plunge, we'll definitely get the APs so that is an option too. We also have CAA (AAA in the States) so we can use that discount too. :)

I have found that the AP discount is better than the AAA discount. Plus, you don't have to activate the AP until you first check in. So you can book an AP discount room without actually having a room. AT least that's how they used to do it. It seems like they are changing things all the time - another reason we bought DVC.

Thanks for this info. I certainly hope that is the case b/c we would our AP to start on our arrival day & not any sooner. :)

We are currently booked for cash at FW at Christmas but the CM told us to check back periodically for AP rates. Didn't want to use the points at FW since we will be at AKV in June.

My dd just booked the campground and with the AAA discount it was 65.00 a night. Not worth using your points because I think it was 8 points during the week points plus the $95.00 booking fee.

Our guide told us last week that there will be no 95$ fee for FW. I hope he is right.

Wow, that would be great. Can you let me know when you book if they charge you a fee. Thanks

Is that just for the camp sites or does it include the cabins too?

(I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I'm asking anyway!)
