I've gotten conflicting results from different sources? Does anyone know for certain whether or not we will be able to use our DVC discount when we dine at EPCOT's La Hacienda on Mother's Day? Thanks.

Not for certain, however, the rules say one thing but what they actually do is another.

We had the Tables in Wonderland (TIW) card, and used it all week during the week of Thanksgiving. However Thanksgiving day was a blackout day for TIW. Since we would not be able to get a TIW discount at any location on Thanksgiving day we went to La Hacienda on Thanksgiving. (We did that because since La Hacienda never offers a TIW discount, we went on a day we would not be able to get a TIW discount anywhere else.)

I paid the bill using my room key, and when the waiter saw we were a DVC member he gave us the DVC discount. We obviously got a little pixie dust. (although a large portion of that dust went to the waiter in the form of an increase gratuity for giving us a discount we had not expected.) However, I later saw that Thanksgiving was also supposed to be a DVC discount blackout day, so as I mentioned earlier "the rules say one thing, but what they actually do is another."

P.S. La Hacienda is worth going to even if you do not get a discount.

That was our reason for choosing La Hacienda as well (it was there or WP's upstairs dining room, which we love but have been to recently).
I guess we'll just see what happens. I'm fine with no discount, but it would obviously be nice.

Every once in awhile you get lucky. A couple of years ago we got a TIW discount on July 4th. I think the discrepancy comes from managers or waitstaff not knowing the rules.
