dvc dining question

sorry to all if this has been asked before but were relativley new dvc owners and our first trip home is in feb. my great travel agent booked our dining's for us after we booked our ressies at blt and airfare. this week our dollar hit par, or just under. so i figured i could buy the ddp through her. she called disney for us today and the cm on the phone told her i had to buy the ddp through dvc. um okay. i was busy getting my daughter off the school bus so i didn't exactly have my computer in front of me to check.

but i just checked the dvc site and only noticed the different plans etc. nothing about paying for it, or buying it via dvc. worst case i purchase it from them while down there, but i'd rather do it when the canadian dollar is this strong. any idea what this cm was talking about...and where abouts do i go to purchase it? or do i just call the dvc line?

Call Member Services about adding the dining plan. That's the only way to add it. You can't do it via the internet.

If you booked your reservation prior to October 14 you will pay for it when you arrive.

If you booked your reservation October 14 and after you will pay for it when you add it to the reservation.

You cannot purchase it at check-in. The plan must be added to your reservation no later than 48 hours before you arrive.

I think if you added it to an existing reservation before October 14, you pay for it when you arrive.

But if you add it now, you pay for it now.

That is correct. It is determined by the date the DDP is added. Any DDP added after Oct. 14, has to be paid immediately.

Now that your reservation is a DVC points reservation, the DDP must be added through MS.

The only ones allowed to do this are the owners so you would have to call to add it.

As noted, the rules changed on October 14th, so any plans added now have to be paid for in advance. However, you can wait to add it up to 48 hours in advance if you don't want to pay for it at this time. The DDP can never be added at check in.
