Hello,
IM not sure if this is the right place to ask this ( MODS PLEASE MOVE IF WRONG PLACE )tks:confused3
I think i seen that if you stay DVC that you could split up your DP during a stay without moving rooms is this right? and how much time do you have to add it to your ressie? and can a renter add it if its close to the check in and in their name? Thanks so much for any help

You have up to 48 hours from your check-in date to add the dining plan to your reservation and you have to pay for it right when you have it added (you used to be able to wait until check-in to pay for it all). Are you renting points from a DVC member? If so then the DVC member will have to call member services to have it put on your reservation...you would not be able to do it yourself. Now if you are the DVC member, then you will have to set it up for the person that you are renting your DVC points to. As for splitting up the DP, I think they did away with that a few months ago, but not really sure on that. Hope this helps some.

Disney no longer allows segmenting reservations for purposes of having the dining plan only on certain days of a trip. It's back to all-or-nothing.

As the previous poster said, the dining plan must be added not later than 48 hours before your check-in, and only the member can make any changes to the reservation. You must pay at the time it's added to the reservation.

do you really find it worth the money? We were at the park yesterday and I was trying to add things up as we ate around the world - it seemed like we did better ourselves. I'd love your opinion on it....

Thank you all for your help.
And to tell you the truth i dont think the dining plan is a good value unless like us we have Chef Mickeys and the Epcot Princess. But if i cant segment the dining plan i WONT pay that much money for food i refuse :sad2: we will eat PBand J 1st.:rotfl:

Our trip in July will have a Chef Mickey visit - but being local, I'm happy to take over food for easy meals and snacks.....guess we will stick with doing it our way. Thanks for your answer :)

Another dvc dining plan question.....

Is the dining plan fully refundable if I cancel it no later than 48 hours before check-in?

Thanks

For my situation, the DDP is not worth it. However, my wife and I split most of our meals, don't want to be bogged down by a lot of reservations, and never eat dessert. Furthermore, we don't drink soda unless something else is in it.

I always suggest DDP if you eat your own meals, like to have sit-down meals a few times during your trip and if you want to eat dessert. Otherwise, nope.
