Did they really change the Dining plan for DVC members? It appears that the plan is different from the plan that one would receive from booking through Disney directly!!! All the downtown restaurants have been removed as well as some others in the parks.

I have to say that Disney, in my opinion, have hurt themselves over the last few years. In the short run they have benefited with increased bookings,
larger park attendance, and busier restaurants. In the long run I feel they are losing the "magic" and families are going less frequently if they return for a visit at all.

I have been to Disney every year for the last 15 and I think my upcoming trip will be my last for the next many years. Our Disney trips have become to stressful needing to plan out every minute of everyday including when we're going to be hungry 6 months in advance.

I just returned from Universal and stayed at the Hard Rock. The experience was better then any trip to Disney in the last 5 years. I'm curious if anyone else is feeling the same way? Maybe Im getting old and cranky:confused3

where did you see this...i havent seen this and doubt they would remove any in the parks.

I printed out a DVC dining plan guide from the DVC member website!!!

It's possible it's not up to date. When the plan comes out for a new year, there are frequently restaurants left off until they sign their contracts. The one on the DVC website might not be the latest. The restaurants should match with WDTC.

hmmmmmm....the one posted on DVC website is different from the one posted on disney .......:confused3

Has anyone been able to confirm if the plans are different or not?

The plans are the same. The information on the website, unfortunately, is not the updated version.

If you go to the Dining Thread, there is an updated brochure that was from December. Those are the final list of restaurants that take the dining plans. Be sure the one you look at shows that it was updated in December.

I Just find it odd that on the DVC website the plan brochure specifically reads "2011 Disney dining plan for DVC members" vs. the other brochures that just say "2011 Disney Dining plan."

i just called member services and was told that teppan edo and tutto italia are signature dining now, but on wdw website under 2011 dining plan they are listed as table service..not sure if the person i talked to knew what was correct but you're right there are definately differences.

I have not seen or heard anything about Teppan Edo and Tutto being signature dining and I looked far and wide online. I hope that you were misinformed.

This must be a mistake.

The only difference I know of is in our benefit.

DDP has an increased price during peak periods....DVC members pay lower regular price.

There can be restaurants that are considered signature dining but that doesn't always mean they will take 2 TS credits in terms of the dining plan.

I have also not heard that those two restaurants will be 2 TS credits for 2011.

if you go on dvc webitse and compare that dining plan to disney website's dining plan, both plans are for 2011 but there are differences in the restaurants for the basic dinign plan. after talking with them on the phone i'm getting the feeling they don't know which plan is right either

They must have put an updated brochure on the DVC wesite now because now it matches the other plans!!!
