We are currently waiting for Disney's ROFR on 2 DVC contracts. If they are approved, we will try and take a fall trip to Disney. I know you can add on the dining plan with a DVC stay, but what if part of the family will only be able to join us for half the trip? Is it possible for 2 people to buy the dining plan for a week, and 2 people to have the dining plan for 4 nights? My 13 year old can't miss more than a couple of days of school now. Thanks for any help.

Rules are the same for DVC members as they are for non-members. You must purchase the dining plan for the entire length of stay for all guests staying in the villa. You would have to shorten your reservation and make a separate reservation for the remaining days of your trip. They can't link the reservations and you may have to move.

You could stay at one resort for the first part of the trip and get a second reservation for the second part of the trip at a second resort.

It's called a split stay. Spend part of your vacation at BCV and then move to VWL for the rest of the trip. That way everyone gets to be on the DDP and you get to experience two wonderful resorts. :goodvibes

Don't forget to add the DDP to your reservation at least 48 hours prior to your arrival. :thumbsup2

That is exactly what we are doing in August, but not because we have other people coming, but because I only wanted to do sit down dinners two of our 7 nights.

So, I am booked at BWV for 4 nights, but the first two are in a garden view room, and the second two are in a standard view room. We will be on the QSDP for the first 2 nights, then have the DDP for the next two. Doing it this way, even though we will be moving rooms, was cheaper than having to do the QSDP for the entire 4 nights and then paying OOP for those two meals.

Since it is the same resort, I will just have my luggage held at Bell Services while we go to the park (we don't normally come back until 3:00ish anyway) and check in to the new room when we get back!

When we move to VWL for the last 3 nights, we will go back on the QSDP.

Don't forget that your DDP credits are good until midnight of your check out day. Any left over credits from the first part of your stay can be used until midnight the day you move.

FYI - Roaring Fork has a decent QS breakfast. :goodvibes

As mentioned, you could change resorts. But you don't have to change resorts to have a separate reservations. You could even make separate reservations in the same unit type and just not link them. You'd have to check back in again and MIGHT have to change rooms but you could ask to be in the same room. Likely better is to get a studio for 2 for the entire time and a separate studio for the others when they come in. That way you can get the DDP for the entire time for the 2 and not at all for the other 2 though you'd be paying for an extra room potentially. Or you could get it the entire time and possibly do a few more expensive options like signature restaurants or dinner shows.

Thanks! We have never been to VWL and are excited. We will be able to save enough CS credits during the VWL trip to have breakfast on check out day. I know that my kids are looking forward to it, especially since we were able to get reservations just last week at Le' Celliar (less than 2 months out) for dinner--and not at 9:00 either--6:20 pm!!
