DVC - Dining Plan 2009 Released yet?

I'm newer to the DVC+Dining thing, and I know I want to put it on my ressie, but when I made the DVC arrangements, the Dining Plan wasn't yet available.

Is there a particular thread on the dis or at the timeshare store, etc that I should check for the release of the dining plan for 2009 DVC reservations?

I added the Deluxe Dining Plan to my January 5-8, 2009 DVC reservation a few days ago. The cost was the same as last year for the Deluxe, 69.99 per person.

The 2009 plans start, if I remember correctly, January 11th. This is to allow the completion of those who booked the 2008 plan for 10 days beginning December 31st.

I've searched the boards, but can't find anything about DVC members with annual passes being able to add the new Quick Service Dining. Does anyone know if this is going to happen? Thanks!

When I called last Saturday, the MS rep said that none of the 2009 plans had been added to their systems for booking. I asked specifically about the QS plan and if they had been told if it would be available, she said that they had not heard anything yet.

Deb Willis's site allearsnet.com is reporting that it won't be, but I am waiting for a proper answer from MS before losing hope.

It was on her Dinning Plan page (it was the last sentence of the 2009 QS description), she has updated that page in the last week and taken that statement off. This makes me even more optimistic that the QS plan will be offered to DVC.

Check the DIS Disney Dining Plan board for info. Here's the basic info, posted over there by TDCNala:

Quick (or counter) service plan: 2 CS, 2 snacks per night of stay, refillable mug. $29.99 per night for adult, $8.99 child 3-9

Regular dining: 1 CS, 1 TS, 1 snack per night of stay. $39.99 per night for adult, $10.99 child 3-9

Deluxe dining: 3 meal credits (use for either CS or TS and yes you could use all three for TS if you want), 2 snacks per night of stay, refillable mug. $71.99 per night for adult, $20.99 child 3-9

ETA: TDCNala was responding to a general question about the 2009 plans. I do not know whether the CS plan is available for DVC points stays.

Deluxe increased by about 2 dollars, so I don't understand how and why MS allowed you to add that. We will be there Jan 4-10, and DH has called twice and was told both times that DVC can't book dining yet.

I just read on the DDP board today that January 11th is the start date for Quick Service Dining. The regular and deluxe dining for 2009 will be available on Jan 1. (Of course, none of this is confirmed for DVC, just general info)

I've spoken to MS twice in the last 3 days...both CM said that the 09 DDP has not been "released" for DVC reservations. 1st CM said that usually happens mid to late Aug./early Sept. 2nd CM said they are hoping it will be announced within the next 2 weeks.

I spoke with MS this morning about this because I'm trying to put the DP on our 2 reservations for 2009. One of the ressies being in January, I'm a little anxious. They told me again that MS still has no information on the 2009 DP. So I guess we'll be waiting a little longer. I hope it comes out soon.

it includes tax I believe as we didn't pay anything above those prices for the dining plan this past week. The tip wasn't included this year either.

That's funny because I called a couple of wks ago and added the Deluxe DP to our Feb 16-22 Developer points - SSR- trip. When I called back a few days ago to add an ADR, the CM said it was booked meaning the DDP.

The reply from above that you quoted is an old post from several months ago. At this point, DVC members may add the DP to their 2009 reservations.
