I was just looking at the fine print for the DVC Dining Discount and noticed that it said the check must be paid at the restaurant and couldn't be charged back to the room. Did anyone experience that? If that is the case, I want to make sure to bring my giftcards along.

I never noticed that. We never tried to charge anything back to our room, though.

I should clarify that I'm talking about the Dine, Save, and Celebrate offer. I feel like I was able to charge back to the room with the regular DVC discount before but I can't remember.

I could not find a Dine, Save and Celebrate offer only the Shop, Save and Celebrate offer and it didn't mention not charging to your room. The only things I know of that do not allow charging to the room are gift card purchases and buying an annual pass. We charge pretty much everything to the room. We were just at WDW last month too. Here is what I found on the new dining discounts for DVC members. https://dvcmember.disney.go.com/post/new-member-offers-expanded-dining-26703

Ok. I will bring my Giftcard just in case. Btw, I found the Dine, Save, and Celebrate offer on this page (3rd offer down) https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/discounts-perks-offers/#/dining,shopping,magic-kingdom/

Bumping this thread - does anyone have any experience with trying to charge back to their room?

TIA!

Sarah

I'd like to hear from someone who has also. We've always paid by credit card at the restaurant and had no problem. It would make sense to me that since charging to your room is ultimately going to your credit card, that it would make sense that you could charge directly to the room and still get the discount. We've also used Gift cards in 2017 and gotten the discount. Just one problem-Disney rules don't always make sense! So who's charged to the room and gotten the discount?

I went in May, utilized the DVC discount and was able to charge back to my room with my magicband with no problem. I guess it's a rule that they don't enforce?

In July I charged to my room frequently and received The DVC or Annual Pass discount every time. Of course, you have to ask for it and carry your DVC and annual pass cards with you.
(every couple of days I stopped by the front desk and paid off my room charges with gift cards)
