DVC digital membership issues

I have been having trouble all day with my DVC discount at Disney springs. First it wouldn’t let me use the paper copy I had read that I should print out. Then they helped me add a digital one to Apple wallet and it is labeled DVC ND. I have a grandfathered third part purchase and a non grandfathered third party. I’ve read a little bit about issues. Any have experience with this?
 
I think you have to call member services. I have read of a lot of people having this issue. I don't know of any way to resolve it, except to call. Do you have a Disney Rewards Visa or an AP? They might be eligible for the same discount as DVC.
 
Yes to Disney visa but I haven’t had much luck with discounts but maybe that is because DVC has always worked and didn’t need it. I am going to try member services now.

What kind of discounts are you trying to get? It mostly looked the same to me, when we evaluated whether to buy resale or direct. There are merch and table service discounts with the Visa. Visa and DVC didn't look much different to me than AP either. They may sometimes have a special DVC discount that I don't know about though. Good luck.
 

I have always gotten 20percent off before at Disney Christmas store and pin traders. Weird part is world of Disney store automatically did apply it to my mobile check out.
 
Why didn't they let you use the paper copy? The paper print out of the card is the end all / be all of DVC proof and trumps all other proof.
 
The only time I don't get a DVC discount is usually at carts in the parks. Otherwise it is usually 10-20% at most shopping including Disney Springs surprisingly.
 
I'm so glad I came across this. I wouldn't have even thought about it until we arrived at WDW. I have the same situation. Grandfathered and non-grandfathered resale contracts. My card is showing ND. Is there any way to take care of this without calling? I hate to wait on hold for 40 minutes to straighten this out. Anyone try chat or message?

Lots of grandfathered and mixed direct/resale DVC members are experiencing this problem. Calling Member Services will accomplish nothing. They will simply tell you that their subcontractor is working on a fix. There is no estimated fix date.

Members have been instructed to use the paper DVC member card, but Disney has done a terrible job training Cast Members on this. Lots of DVC members are reporting problems at WDW.

This has got to be one of the biggest IT screw-ups I've ever seen at Disney.
 
I was on hold 20 minutes. He knew exactly the problem and quickly put through a tech request to fix it. I’ll let you know how long it takes to get the ND off.

Yeah, I just chatted with member services and the agent was very nice, but basically said download it from the website and ask for a manager if I have a problem:

Okay so we know this to be an issue with Members with contracts like yours. For now you can access a temporary card from the website under the My DVC Tab>View My Membership Card. Delete the card and redownload it closer to your trip if it still says ND then use the card on the website.

Yes we are aware of that too. If that happens ask to speak with a Coordinator or Leader on duty.



Hopefully this will be fixed by our trip in March. Or at least the CMs will all know what's up by then. In the meantime I'll check out the other thread. Thanks for the info!

I was just on the phone with IT (don't even ask...it's ridiculous that you need to call IT to go on vacation. Ever). Among many myriad of issues, I mentioned the DVC member card thing. She was super nice and aware of the problem. There is no fix. It's being "worked on".
 
Mine won’t add to my apple wallet from the MDE app. It just won’t work. This sure is easier than a physical card...(sarcasm font)

I am having the same issue trying to add my 82 year old FIL's card to his Apple Wallet. I can see it (and his Castaway Key member #) in his MDE account, but every time I follow the steps to add it to his wallet, it tells me no. Tried several times, tried deleting his phone number and re-adding it, no go. 😞

I had a call with IT the first week of January, and I'm still waiting unfortunately. I'd definitely tune in to the specific thread under DVC - folks are sharing their on-the-ground experience using temporary cards, which is helpful.
 
Update. After my call with member services earlier this week I felt good about my impression that they were well aware of the issues and my account would be forwarded for correction. Well … it still says ND today. Not sure if they were trying to make me feel good while a global solution is being determined or if it is account by account and it is a long list. Have had better luck though with paradiso just taking my word for DVC (we had a service issue so that may have been part) and a couple of resort gift shops taking my membership card from the my membership portion of vacation club site.
 
Still says ND so it looks like my call to member services was completely unproductive. Anyone else with multiple accounts, including at lease one grandfathered account have any luck getting the "ND" removed?
