Ok, this is a Grand California Resort question. We are staying at the Grand for our first trip to DL in August. We used our developer points for this vacation. I've read there is a resort fee. Is this something we'll have to pay when we get there, or is this included in the many points we used for this trip?

That is a good question. We are there in June on DPs as well. When I booked through member services I never heard mention of a resort fee I had to pay. Curious.

I was just checking on parking and it mentions that the 'free' parking is included in the $12 (plus tax) per day resort fee. So got me thinking... :confused3

You won't have to pay the daily resort fee or the hotel tax (15%) when you book on points. You will receive all the included ammenities (internet, free self parking...) Valet is still an extra $17 per day like it is for everyone else.

Just got back from Spring Break at the Grand Californian on developers' points. There is no out of pocket expenses for the room when staying on points. :cool1: We also have the advantage of not needing to pay the $95 transfer fee when using points at any DLR hotel. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for info. Being we used LOTS of points (our leftover 08 also) to really enjoy this trip with the least out of pocket expense, so happy to see this extra fee is not for us, yippee...

Good to know! I heard that about the $95 trans fee and glad we were not hit with that either!!!

We are sooo excited for this trip.

I can confirm everything everyone's already said! I pray that the $95 resort fee doesn't get instituted once the villas open but that wouldn't be till November 09 anyway.
