DVC Designation on Disney VISA

I couldn't find a recent thread on this, nothing since the charter member discussions.

We just got our Disney Reward Visa in the mail yesterday and someone mentioned they thought you could have "DVC Member" imprinted on the card. I asked about this when I called to activate and the customer service person couldn't answer the question.

Was this only something they did back when the card was introduced or can you still have this put on your card? Obviously don't want a charter member designation, but would be nice to have DVC Member on the card.

We applied through the Passholder website for the $100 credit offer.

You can still get this done. Just call the cardholder service number on the back of the card and ask for it. It doesn't actually say "DVC Member." It says "Disney Vacation Club" under your name.

Here's a sample:

DH called Customer Service last week to inquire about adding the DVC at the bottom of our Disney Visa. The gentleman on the phone told my husband he had never heard of that, put my husband on hold, then came back and said that they don't do that. I'm wondering if I should call back.? Does anyone out there actually have Disney Vacation Club on the bottom of their card?

A little closer... called back and their systems are down. Though the CSR did say call back in about an hour or so and they "should" be able to take care of that for me.

That's better than the person yesterday who had no idea what I was talking about.

My card looks exactly like the one above.

I think it's just a matter of getting someone who knows what you're talking about. Be sure to ask for "Disney Vacation Club" and not "DVC Member."

Yes our cards say Disney Vacation Club on them. I was under the impression way back when that this was only done for people that applied for the card when it first came out. Could be wrong but maybe that is why everybody is having a hard time getting that added?

Mine has this, but I ordered it with the special promo they had ages ago where you could either get $75.00 or $75.00 off your dues. As the promo was sent only to DVC members they already knew you were one. I can see them having to verify your membership before they add the designation to your card, and I don't know if Disney Visa has access to your info at Member Services. Maybe that's the issue now??---Kathy

It's possible they've stopped doing it, but I think they're just getting CSRs who don't know about it. I had my card for a few years, and just added the "Disney Vacation Club" about a year ago -- long after the start of DVC and not part of any promotional deal. I just called the Chase 800 number out of the blue one day when I read on here it was an option.

I have one that has it imprinted on it. A year ago, I called for a replacement one for DH and asked if it could be imprinted with it. Received it, nope, called back, they ordered a replacement one, got it, nope. Called again, and finally it came with it on it.
I've read, if you apply for it thru the DVC member website, it'll come automatically with it imprinted on it. We've had numerous people say something about it, when we use it.
Good luck!

I just called about 3-4 months ago about this and it wasn't a problem.
In about 3 weeks I had new cards that said Disney Vacation Member under my name.

As OP have stated you have to use the application for the DVC visa, because disney cards are offered to everyone that uses Chase Bank. The application for vacation club members usually will give you a 100 to 200 dollar rewards card after your first purchase, this comes in handy for AP or anything else Disney.

Spoke to cardholder services tonight. After being put on hold for awhile I was told to expect my new cards in 3-5 business days and if it wasn't right to call back right away.

We'll see.

I never knew this!

Did you have to give out your member ID to anyone at Chase to get this added for those of you that just did this?

Thanks! I think I'll call and add that to ours!

:goodvibes

Nope, didn't have to give him anything, which does make you wonder since there's no way Chase would know if I was a member or not.

That's interesting. I wouldn't have wanted to give out my member number though. Maybe they can look us up thru something??? Who knows.

I think I'll call to add this to our cards! Thanks for the tip!:thumbsup2

Same here. Called last night after reading this thread. Rep said it wasnt a problem and to expect it in 2-3 weeks.

Hey Nukker7 or anyone, what exactly should I ask for when I call Chase? I want to make sure I say it right so they know what I want. :)

My card says Disney Vacation Club. I've had it since it first came out and just got my new renewal card in April. It also says Cardmember since "Day 1".
