DVC Cruising Question

I just booked rooms for sailing Christmas 2005 through Costco. We are also in the process of buying a DVC resale--have passed rofr, will probably be in the Disney system in 2 weeks or so. One post I read now has me wondering---does Disney give special cruise discounts to DVC members? Or, like hotel discounts and AP rates, is it only for the slow seasons?

Anything else I should do or know re. this?

The only discount you'll get with DVC points is if you rebook on the cruise using DVC points. There is a slight savings then.

They do not run any specials, or at least they haven't yet.

we got a seven day cat 5 for three people in December (it was the dvc fall sale) for like 390 points, it was amazing, but that was two years ago, and nothing like that has come along since.

Um, that would be a definite NO. If anything, they charge DVC members more . Sorry, just a little jaded.

We went to WDW last August and visited friends staying at VWL, 2 bedroom and were awestruck. Then, I stumbled onto the DVC DIS-boards, got sucked in, and now we own 210 BCV points!

What about you?

Got sucked in eh You are not alone.....

We bought at VWL. We actually waited about 2 years for the place to be built-we loved it that much. We always go either of the first 2 weeks of Dec and knew it would be next to impossible to book it if we didn't own there, so the rest is history.

BCV are really beautiful and some day we will stay there too!
