We are looking at booking our first Disney Cruise for next summer. Does anyone know if DVC ever has discounts for Disney cruises? Also, we going to be at BCV next week. Are there any discounts if you book while your at WDW?

Thanks.

There were some cash discounts on the Fantasy once (maybe twice).

No bounce back rates at WDW on when using points.

last year they have some really great discounts last min . I am assuming they couldn't fill the boat ,it was the NYC cruises . They were offering any verandah room for like $170 per night but you found out in mid june and the cruise was sept I think . I dont think this is the norm .

With yet another cruise ship problem, fire this time, I would think big discounts will soon come along for those willing to take the risk.

None of the issues have occurred on Disney ships, though. They could actually be benefitting from other cruise lines' negative press.

There are no standard DCL discounts for DVC owners. Discounts have been offered on a couple of occasions but they are completely unpredictable.

Not likely. People that love to cruise still continue to love to cruise & the cruise lines know it. You might see some temporary promotions but they won't be "big" discounts. DCL ordinarily only offers discounts during slow times for filling cruise ships or if an itinerary isn't selling.

I was told my our "guide" on the Dream just last week that DVC members get 10% off all cruises and sometimes special cash prices and member only cruises. So she told us not to rush into "rebooking" on board because the benefit is alway there for members. I hope she was right ;)

Generally DVC doesn't even do cash cruises other than member cruises. I only remember them discounting the points cruises once and I'm thinking it was September, maybe someone else remembers specifics. They have had a couple of specials for the newer ships I believe.

The 10% off is when you book within three days of disembarkation. And the 10% is off the point cost. So say the cruise cost 300 points, you would only need 270.

The only discounts I've seen are last minute bookings. I know they had one last summer and I really wanted to go, but I had just returned from a 3+ week trip to WDW and just couldn't do it. I'm secretly hoping they will offer a similar deal this summer. We never take a summer vacation (winter, spring and fall only). So I'm always ready to throw a last minute summer trip together if the price and dates are good.

I doubt other cruise line issues will effect other cruise lines pricing . From what I seen all the issues are with carnival . After that first fire the wife was checking prices and they were extremely discounted . Not sure I'd ever get on a carnival cruise thanks to the 3 recent incidents .

How about Costa? I would expect some effect on cruising in general but less for DCL than most and likely more off season than peak season.

This has recently been increased to within 7 days of Disembarkation and we were told it is not exactly a set 10% off. Like all things DVC, they have a chart that shows the number of points off for each future cruise, so it varies.

I got a huge discount off my cruise that was in November of 2012, Fantasy Western Caribbean. Saved money from going from a Deluxe Inside Stateroom to a Deluxe Family Outside Stateroom with Verandah. I think I saved $500 plus the upgrade. The sale came out with DVC about a month or 2 from me sailing.

I originally booked a repeat cruise as a cash customer whilst onboard for 2 rooms, but I've changed one stateroom to DVC. They still gave me he 10% point discount as I was transferring not a new booking and this was 18months down the line. They said I'd still get my bounce back benefits. Does anyone know if I still get a OBC I think it was $ 200 for the cash reservation? Or is that just cash sales it was so long ago I can't remember.
