I will be staying at OKW for 4 days and then taking a Disney Cruise followed by 5 more days at OKW. I am using points for all of it.

How does the transportation to and from the cruise work? Is it free? Where would I catch the bus?

If you use the DCL busses, it is about $25 per person, each way. You can also make your own reservations with a Limo service or rent a car at the port.

If you post this on the DCL forum you will get a lot more responses.

Nick is right - the people on the Cruise Board have this down to a science.

As for my family, we took a towncar for our DVC/Cruise trips. It was just slightly more for our family of three to do a private towncar over the crowded buses. If you have four in your family, I believe it is cheaper.

We are doing this in a couple of weeks and using FL Tours, one of the Dis Board's sponsors. Very nice and reasonable. Cheaper for the 6 of us than a bus.

I think that everyone here has a good idea. You will find it more convenient to rent a towncar for the trip. Plus I don't believe that the Disney bus service for the cruise goes to OKW at all. So you would need to get you and all your luggage to a different resort for pick up if you use their service.

You can also get there earlier using a rental car or towncar; then you have more hours on the ship to enjoy the first day at your leisure.
