Currently on a cruise (non-Disney) in Hawaii, and our Kona stop today was cancelled due to wind. I’ve been there before, so not a huge deal, it’s just that I’d planned to buy coffee and now I just get to wave at the tasty coffee as we sail on by. Boo.
I’m a coffee snob, but in the reverse of most people’s coffee snobbery. I do not enjoy the (to me) burnt-tasting dark roast coffee that is the standard brewed coffee across most of the US. I have to load it up with a ton of milk and sugar to choke it down. I much prefer smoother light roasts, but they’re hard to find in restaurants or coffee shops. On vacation, I will take a caffeine pill in the morning if my only coffee option is going to be a Starbucks. It’s one of the reasons a coffee maker and fridge is on my preferred list of amenities for any hotel room, so I can bring or buy supplies to make my own coffee of choice rather than have to attempt to forage for it.
