You are younger than I am---I don't think the Free Speech Cafe opened until after I graduated. However, I used to get the bianca mocha at Cafe Strada from time to time. Happily, the Strada is still there; I've taken both my kids to show them their roots. Neither ended up there, though my son is at a Branch Campus. (As you can imagine, I never tire reminding him of this fact.)I first started with White Chocolate Macchiatos (from the Free Speech Cafe at UC Berkeley's Moffitt Library
It was one thing when they used to sell bagged ground coffee in the resort shops. There is no way in H-E-Double-Toothpicks I am buying this. It's the main reason I order groceries from an external vendor.Who in their right mind is buying this?
For those interested in Hawaiian cultivars: Kaua'i Coffee has some estate offerings that are also pretty good (quite a bit better than their house blend), usually less expensive than (pure) Kona, and shippable. It's what I used to drink before I switched to my local roaster. One of the frequent flyers over at TUG owns and personally works a coffee farm on the Big Island, but I never tried it.Mentioned in the other thread, but...
Yes, I agree about Kaua'i Coffee. While I mainly stick to their version of Vanilla Mac Nut (it used to be available in our Publix), it is a solid brew. I think I still prefer the Royal Kona version, but prefer Kaua'i to Lion. IIRC, Kaua'i Coffee has a visitor's center on the island. I do hope to get there someday and I will make sure to try some of their estate offerings. For those interested in Hawaiian cultivars: Kaua'i Coffee has some estate offerings that are also pretty good (quite a bit better than their house blend), usually less expensive than (pure) Kona, and shippable. Im excited to buy this Flavors of Africa that I had at Boma and see if I like it as much at home as I did that morning after my red eye flight. The coffee at Jiko is Kenya AA bean - likely sourced from Joffrey's. Kenya's bean is robust, deep flavor, not fruity, very complex with hints of floral...usually roasted dark. I really like Kenyan and Tanzanian coffee beans for evenings as I like the stronger, bolder tastes. For breakfast, I generally prefer the more tropical beans, especially Hawaiian Kona and Jamaican Blue Mountain. Both are generally medium roasted, fruity notes, sweeter beans. Middle-of-the-road coffee is usually the Columbian, Brazilian, and Central American beans which all have a similar nutty, semi-strong flavor depending on how they're roasted. SE Asian beans like those from Indonesia are often similar too, with just a hint more tropical - but rather than fruity tones, they tend more towards coconut tones.
Jiko is one of the few places in Disney where I really like their coffee and get it after a meal. Most of the rest of Disney's coffee isn't BAD, but just isn't anything special. A vast majority of the coffee I drink at Disney is the stuff I bring with me - whole beans and a grinder to make my own in the villa. I generally bring two coffees - one breakfast bean and one evening bean. I'll be up there next week, and intend to bring Jamaican Blue Mountain beans for mornings, and a medium roast Ethiopian Yirgacheffe bean for evenings.
I have one of those too. Im on my 3rd version currently.Geez, you guys are fancy. I bought a Nespresso machine a few years ago and thought that made me pretentious.
Oh good. I'm not alone then.I have one of those too. Im on my 3rd version currently.
Currently I own a Nespresso, a Keurig, a percolator, a french press, a V60 pour over and regular espresso style.Oh good. I'm not alone then.
Those are surprisingly decent for pod coffee. I like them much (much) more than the competition.a Nespresso machine
Does southern branch still have a football program? I haven't heard about it in a few years.Branch Campus.
Sure. They play old school midwestern football. In fact, they'll be in my neck of the woods during Big Game Week.Does southern branch still have a football program? I haven't heard about it in a few years.
As a Coug, don't get me started...Sure. They play old school midwestern football. In fact, they'll be in my neck of the woods during Big Game Week.
I suppose that's not as bad as having a stadium from which one can see the Pacific ocean as the home venue for a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. All oceans connect, I guess.
(I am very grumpy about the demise of the Pac 12, though probably not as grumpy as the Beavs and Wazzu.)

We have a Nespresso machine also, we are definitely not fancyGeez, you guys are fancy. I bought a Nespresso machine a few years ago and thought that made me pretentious.
Same, but only on my second version! Any favorites? I do like their Stormio and Intensio.Oh good. I'm not alone then.
Those are actually my favorites, too, but some of the special/seasonal offerings are pretty good as well. There was a seasonal offering that was excellent, but of course I can't remember what it was called - it had some kind of sesame additive - and it's not available anymore.Same, but only on my second version! Since it seems we have the same taste in coffee, any other recommendations are welcome! I need to do another order soon! I did like their flavored versions, I often brew one of the flavored along with a regular pod. I need more than 7.5 ounces of coffee! Those are actually my favorites, too, but some of the special/seasonal offerings are pretty good as well. I have also had multiple machines, but the latest is the "Pop" version, which I don't really like. I think it was meant to be their budget model. I am thinking about getting a new one of their older-style, better quality machines. When that happens, I'm going to buy a ton of new pods.Since it seems we have the same taste in coffee, any other recommendations are welcome! I need to do another order soon!
