This was a direct from Disney with SSR as the home resort. Just curious how long it takes to file all the paper work. Not that it really affects things since you can use the points starting day 1, but I was just curious about the process.

It could affect things - depending on when you want to stay. My understanding is that although you can make reservations immediately, you can't actually stay until after the deal has closed.

Your closing with Disney at SSR will depend on which building your interest is attached to. You can't close until that building is ready for occupancy, which in some cases may be several months. Your guide should be able to tell you that, and it should also be in your contract. You can make reservations almost immediately, but only for arrival after your closing.
With resale, things are different. With resale, you first have to wait for ROFR (Disney's Right of First Refusal). If your contract clears ROFR, which usually takes 3-4 weeks, then you start the closing process. That process can take another 3-4 weeks. Once you have closed via resale, it usually takes an additional 7-10 business days for your contract to be fully "in the system," for you to be able to make reservations.
The difference with sold-out resorts bought direct from Disney is that they are already occupied, so there is no delay for that.
