DVC Christmas ornament from Doorway to Dreams

I got an email from Doorway to Dreams announcing that they are giving ornaments out to members who stop by and show their card(one per household). Has anyone gotten one yet? I'd love to see it and decide if it is worth my drive!

I haven't see this either, but I'll be at Woodfield the day after Thanksgiving with all the crazy people - I'll have to stop in and say "hi".

Just got back. It is cute and I suspect what DVC will be passing out at the Merry Member Mixers. It is about 2 3/4" tall. Pewter. It is a snowman wearing mouse ears and on his belly it says Happy Holidays then the DVC logo and then 2007 on the bottom.

It came in a black bag that has the Doorway to Dreams logo on it and also came with two Doorway to Dreams luggage tags.


Here's a picture of it. Not the best but you can at least see it.

I got an e-mail. When I went in they just asked to see my blue DVC card. I was wearing a DVC jacket so they knew I was a member when I walked in.

It is cute! They didn't ask for anything when I went in. I just told them I'm a member and they gave it to me.

I have a vacation day tomorrow. I am going to go and see what happens. It looks so cute. it does not hurt to try. For me it is only aobut 15 minutes away.

Karen - I'm thinking they will be as it reminds me of the ornaments we got last year and got the year before from friends who attended the year before that.

I hate to ask but what is Doorway to Dreams, and where are they located?

Doorway to Dreams is something new DVC is trying. It is a sales center outside of any DVC location. It is located in Woodfield Mall which is in Schaumburg, IL a suburb Northwest of Chicago.

They have one bedroom and studio models of AKV onsite as well as sales reps who will sit down and discuss DVC with you.

Well I went today and got my ornament at the Doorway to Dreams. One of the representatives brought it out to me. She talked to me for about 15 minutes. She told me to look for an e mail or something in the mail. That in the beginning of February they are going to have something for the member like when they opened. Can’t wait to see what she is talking bout. All I had to do is show them my member card.

We were at the mall yesterday too (my computer got messed up, so a trip to the Apple store!). DH suggested we stop in at Doorway to Dreams so we did! Never received a postcard, or email, or anything about a "Merry Mixer" just decided to pop in. Also, didn't have to show my blue card. The receptionist asked if we were members, asked for our phone number, then asked if we were there for the ornament. A CM came out with the black bag, with the ornament and luggage tags. We mentioned we were going down next month, and staying at AKV, so we were allowed to tour the models. (we went to the grand opening last August, but it was so busy, this was a nice quiet visit!). The ornament is cute!!

I went up to Woodfield on Saturday I got my ornament and luggage tags. For me it was worth it. The ornament was cute. I got to see the rooms again which is where I will be heading in 8 days.

I also picked up my ornament...I was only asked for my phone number. I was told the same thing...there will be some sort of event in early February...he mentioned that a bunch of the characters would be on hand.

The store didn't have a single person except me in it....I wonder how their numbers are?
