We want to eventually stay at them all too, but have a ways to go. Doing our first repeat this year because I got super lucky on a BCV waitlist. We only stayed there 3 days on our first DVC trip, doing all 6 nights this time.

At wdw we are missing BRV, VGF, OKW and AK are still on the list to get to. Was supposed to try BRV the last two trips but waitlist hit both times. I might just keep booking BRV and doing waitlist to see how long I can streak it lol.

One more comment on the DIS supporter thing:

Apparently, when I bought my plan, it was set up to auto-renew. It was not clear to me that that would happen, though it is entirely possible that that is because I did not read carefully enough. But, I did not see a way to opt out of automatic renewal. I'm really not a big fan of such arrangements, so I have asked if it is possible to "cancel" but keep my ad-free experience through the end of the purchased term.

Yes. And the notice came from PayPal, not from DIS itself. You beat me to the question. I just emailed the contact listed via PayPal to ask about it.

you're further along than I am! that's great luck about your BCV waitlist, what a score to get all 6 nights! we love BRV, I think the theming is so great in the rooms and we generally just love WL. I love the idea of continuing to book BRV and waitlisting elsewhere to see if you can keep the streak going!

I also got one, but had already asked that my automatic renewal be cancelled. So it was either a glitch, or DIS decided not to do automatic auto-renew, and turned it off for folks who had already signed up.

If the latter: Kudos to the DIS powers that be. Auto-renew is the devil's work.

There are other resorts, not to be named, that definitely fall in the faux-fancy category.

My opinion is only based on photo/videos since I've never actually been there. If I see it in person, it may change my opinion on it a lot.

Which ones do you think are faux-fancy? I think the only other one that seems like it's trying to be fancy is Riviera, maybe. But, again, only basing my opinion on photo/video.

We also cant stay at CFW or RIV so cuts down the list too for us. I'm also not including CCV as we will never stay there since studio and 1br both hard cap at 4. Don't plan to burn a bunch of points on a 2br there either. So just counting BRV for WL. Most likely wont ever do PIT either but have stayed at the longhouses and liked it.

Was it the Peter Millar? I bought the white one, and really like it. With the 20% merch discount, the price is competitive wtih the outside world, too.

The Polynesian was the first WDW resort I ever stayed at, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve made so many great memories there, especially attending the luau every year.

I’ve also always loved Stitch, so that connection fits perfectly with the Poly’s theme.

That said, when it came to choosing a DVC resort, I ultimately preferred VGF (pre BPK) over PVB (pre Island Tower). I had stayed at all of the deluxe resorts and always found myself gravitating back to the Grand Floridian. Over time, I really came to appreciate everything it has to offer.

I mean…. if you are staying in OG VGF…. aren’t you basically at the Grand Floridian & The Polynesian?

It’s a 4 min walk to Gasparilla and a 6 min walk to Wailulu…. maybe another 2-3 minutes to Trader Sam’s?

Being just steps away from the Poly, even before PVB IT, was a big selling point for me. I enjoy the dining, lounges, and shops, and it’s great having access to two resorts plus the walking path to MK.

I agree with this. The original villas included Monogram and Bosch appliances, along with real marble throughout the bathrooms. There were also dedicated CMs in the lobby, a water feature in the villa lobby, and some of the largest accommodations in the DVC portfolio outside of OKW. The layout of the villa is very functional too. You can access the one-bedroom toilet from the hallway while still closing it off from the secondary sink in the primary bath and bedroom. The balconies also extend the full length of the unit. It's not the Four Seasons, but for Disney, it's luxurious.

It’s true the Murphy bed was scaled back during the soft goods refurb and the paneled appliances are not being replaced as they age, but I still think the resort has some extra special touches. It was also refurbished timely, well before some resorts that had already passed their deadlines. I’m hopeful for the first true hard goods refurb. Big Pine Key is not everyone’s favorite addition, but if it continues to be refurbished alongside the cash rooms, keeps the same theming, and helps keep costs low, I think that is a big plus too.

I think VGF is one where staying there will give you an experience that just seeing videos or stopping by and checking out the lobby can never give you.

BUT it’s for not everyone…. and that’s OK. Your love is Wilderness Lodge…. for other people it’s Animal Kingdom Lodge….. for others it’s Riveria or Poly….

That’s what’s wonderful about the program, you can have some variety and find out what you love, what you like, and what you don’t need to try again.

The Grand is completely overhyped and no one should try and stay there…. especially in the OG building….

Disney Cruises, I prefer 3 nights which I know is a minority opinion. Ideally I’d prefer a 3.5 night I think, but such an itinerary doesn’t exist… there’s only so much food I can eat!

3.5 would be AMAZING because (IMO) the worst part of every Disney cruise is having to drag ourselves out of the stateroom by 8AM. I’m tired just thinking about it!

Since our first (and only so far) stay at VGF we find ourselves comparing the other resorts to VGF and VGF reigns supreme for us. I have a stay coming up in a few months at PIT and RIV, so we'll see if that changes my tune.

We own VGF but use it as SAP for now. Really like the resort but we are EPCOT people and AK is our second favorite, so spending extra points on the monorail loop doesn’t make a lot of sense. I have big plans for using our points at their home after the new lands (minilands?) come open at MK…is cars slated for 2027?

For WDW, 7 nights seems to be a good amount for us. It's just a crazy amount of walking and so much time spent getting on and off buses that by the end of the week, we've had our fill.

We have never stayed at WDW more than 5 nights and I am ALWAYS exhausted and sore by the time we leave. I told myself that if I went more frequently and stayed longer, I wouldn’t be so much of a park warrior, but I really can’t spend more than an hour or two a day awake in the room.

I own BCV and LOVE it…but BCV and BWV are basically the same resort to me, unless you get unlucky and wind up in a BWV room that is a mile from the boat dock. Curious how you can feel so differently about the two.

BWV has a garbage pool is the main one. The food options are not great either.

The whole BCV vibe is much better.
