DVC Chit Chat Thread

quality of materials/build
points chart
amenities available
cash/dvc mix
transportation logistics
number of/caliber of dining amenities/options
deeded real estate?

any other questions?
I’ll add one other thing…hours the food options are open. BCV is far and away our favorite option at WDW, but we have stopped staying there most arrival nights because not being able to find food or beverage after 10pm is awful. I’m not sure if WDW has always been this way or I just notice it post COVID traveling with kids—but how is it possible these hotels sell rooms over $700/night and there’s literally nowhere to get any kind of prepared food or beverage after 10/10:30/11?

I'm trying to think if there are any deluxe resorts on property that would offer food at that hour? Maybe a monorail resort since MK is open later?

Disney vacations tend to be not lined up with the need for night owls... though I think DCL does 24 hour room service at least...

Morning!
I have been reading through the thread (as it kept growing and growing) the last couple of weeks and finally caught up!

Just wanted to say hi!

I'm looking forward to my first trip home (well WDW) for a few years and am also thinking about next year (currently have two cruises booked for Easter time but might move to August).

Couple of random questions I'm hoping you can help with:

1. Where do you get the DVC owners images I can see in your signatures? I now have SSR and Poly contracts so I need to update!

2. Is the MK member lounge open during MNSSHP? If so is it generally easy to get in or do you need to queue?

I'm sure there will be more but it's nice to have a group thread to chat in!

Some of the Swan/ Dolphin lounges are open until midnight though not all serve food past 11 and hours can vary. Not too far a walk from the Crescent Lake resorts. I call ahead to make sure they’re still serving if I’m looking for food.

Capt. Cooks and Mara open til 11 but apart from that SSR is close enough to Springs where QS stays open til 11 04 11.30

I just checked a few others. Primo Piatto, Roaring Fork, Artist's Pallete, Geyser Point, all stay open until 11. Even the BC Marketplace says it stays open until 11. I wonder if @HyperspaceMountainPilot's comment is specific to the BC Marketplace because I know the setup there is the giftshop/QS hybrid sort of space that, as I recall, doesn't have any seating or tables (like a full QS such as Primo Piatto or Roaring Fork). I wonder if they tend to shut the kitchens down well before the official 11 pm closing time.

The Member Lounges are not open during the the parties. Last year, they offered a special "treat" to eligible DVC owners (DVC-Y/BY) during some of the parties that occurred on a Friday.

There is a thread where people posted ones they created via Chat GPT...I'll see if I can find it...

Can someone please confirm I am thinking correctly - if I want to use these Polynesian points to stay in August 2027 I only have 50 from 2026 (which I can bank) and 50 from 2027 which I will have in my (then) current use year and I could then borrow from 2028 if I need more than 100?

I think I would need to rent the 50 I banked from 2025?

We often arrive at those late hours. It was after 1am last visit. I always do a Walmart grocery order. I have them deliver the day of arrival and have bell services deliver it to my villa when I arrive. This gives us the ability to have both a quick meal when we arrive as well as breakfast right away when we get up the next morning after a late night arrival.

Okay thanks! Pretty much no wait?
There was no wait when went to the designated pick up spot. We were there as soon as they started handng out wristbands. Enjoy the party.
Just find the wristbands as soon as you can!

My thoughts…

Hopefully materials are quality.
Pretty sure point chart will be on the high side.
Amenities should be plenty
Cash/DVC mix should be at least 1/2-1/2 (or more DVC)
Transpo should be same as WL
Dining is up in the air, but potential is high!
Most likely the first new resort on the new system.

It is insane, even any night after the parks there is nothing, I always have to remember to buy some kind of snacks for the room to avoid door dash… and even those options get slim after midnight.

Never check Swolphin, I’ll remember that next time!!

Maybe I just need to look better, but also I might be looking after 11.
