I made a reservation in July for a friend at SSR for Oct 19-29-21 and reserved the meal plan. In August I altered the reservation to Oct 20-21-22. When my friend checked in, they were told that they had to reserve the meal plan three days ahead of check in. I called DVC today and they checked on the phone calls and found that I had reserved it on the original reservation but the agent did not apply it to the new reservation. They told me that it was standard procedure for the agent to reissue the meal plan on to the new reservation. They did this to my December reservation since I had cancelled 1 day off of an original five day 2 BR reservation, and I am still registered for the meal plan. My friends were a bit dissapointed since they had reservations for LeCellier, Coral Reef and Chefs De France and they over shot their $37.99 per person/day meal plan budget. Has this ever happened to anyone else? DVC recognized their mistake and said that they would phone me back with their solutionas how to stop this from happening to someone else in the future.

Thanks for posting this. That is really unfortunate what happened. I will make sure to double check that on any reservations I have to change. Let us know what they say.

They should tell your friends to keep the receipts and DVC will issue a refund for any food above the $40!! :rotfl: That'll never happen!!

Sorry that this happened. Please let us know how Disney resolves for your friends.

It happens. I thought it was standard procedure that they cancel the DDP when shifting a ressie. Check even if you change some of the names on the ressie.

Our requests at SSR disappeared when we dropped one day from the original reservation. We did not find this out until check-in. I will now try to remember to always call MS a week or so before our arrival to make sure that all info is correct.
Hope that MS compensates your friends in some way.

When they change a reservation, you have to make sure you add all the extras again. I changed a Disneyland reservation and they dropped my friend from the reservation when they shifted it. I did not realize I would have to add her again. She had to jump through hoops to check in since she got there first.

When my waitlist came through (AKV late Sept), they canceled our dining plan. Luckily I phoned MS about a week before we went, just to make sure the dining plan and the reservation were in order. They rebooked the dining plan for me at that time. Really, I should not have to phone to confirm my reservations, and it's a waste of MS time. I wish things like pending waitlists (before they come through), dining plans, and requests, all showed up on the member website. It sure would make checking these things a lot easier.

This happened to me last week. I checked into WLV on Oct 12th...and my DDP was NOT there. I originally had a 2br and went to a 1br when my dad wasn't coming.

I even called MS before I left to check everything.....I even checked my "requests".

After some coolheadedness on my part....they issued the DDP to me after calling MS. But then they never took my Dad off and they had him on the meal plan....this would have been 5 adults and a kid for a 1br....then they had to call MS again and fix it. All worked out in the end....I got the DDP and thats what I wanted.

If we had an online reservation system, it sure would alleviate these problems.
Instead, they are opting for having members call several times to "check" that their ressies have been done correctly?:sad2:
