DVC bus advantage??

Were you a BWV owner when BW was the last stop after Swan, Dolphin, YC and BC? Things got really messy when one MK or AK bus passed us by because they were full! Having our own BW bus is SO much better!
Yes! Sharing with 4 other stops was such a drag, especially coming back from the parks after a long day. AND when two of the stops technically weren't even disney hotels?? Glad that's over for sure

Short answer, no.

The buses are the buses are the buses. You are not going to get faster/better/more buses at any resort over others. The only differences are: value resort bus stops are not covered but have actual lines. Moderate/Deluxe stops are covered but no lines so can be a free for all or running of the bulls. Resorts on sky liner route rarely, if ever, have buses to Epcot or HS, usually only if the sky liner is down. MK resorts (other than WL) do not have buses to Epcot unless you take a bus to an Epcot resort, you must take the monorail. I could be wrong but I don't think YC/BC and BW have buses to Epcot or HS (I'm not sure on this since I always walk it). Sometimes the All Stars share buses, sometimes they don't. Sometimes POFQ shares buses with PORS sometimes they don't. Other than POFQ moderates have multiple bus stops, so does OKW, SS and the Fort. I've stayed at just about every resort on property (the only exceptions being WL, SS, Riv, AoA and ASMu. (including camping at the Fort and stayed at Shades of Green before it was military only)) and I've had good and bad bus service at every single one of them. I have stayed DVC at BW, AKV and OKW and had the same.

Interesting, I wonder what resort this was. There's always the rideshare option, if you really want to be first.
Ride share depends on the parking lot being open, which it may or not be at the time the first buses run. The only true reliable way to be toward the front of the RD line is walking to the park IMO.

Wish BC had own bus! Many times when the bus came to us was already filled with YC and sometimes even swan and dolphin when we shared with them! Haven't used bus recently, but I remember sharing with YC, Bc and BW at times over the years and sometimes having bus skip us because they were full ( so I imagine BW was bad too- but we should all have own buses for busy times! And never should be more than two resorts sharing ! We often skip going to Disney Springs bus service was so bad.) hopefully they have fixed things since our last visit there! This goes for return to resort as well!

What resort?

I find different resorts have different experiences.

As an example Riviera is the best bus service IMO as its a small resort and doesn't share with another resort either. So it will be the least crowded typically.
Unless the Skyliner goes down, in which case it all goes to hell.

And the Monorail was down at the start of the month. The walking trail was closed one night. The boats were not running various times. When I stayed at VGF earlier this month.

Waited like 35 mins with no information if a bus would come to take us to MK when the monorail was down.

RIV was better than VGF for bussing in general though for normal busses as you didn't have people already on from another resort (like POLY) and you didn't have a stop before your resort adding on an extra 5 mins to any trip you took.

One of things I disliked about BW when they shared busses with Swan/Dolphin.

I stay at the Dolphin often, while it is common for people who think they are getting ahead by going to BW or YC - you don't save time, even for MK where you have to go from TTC. Much easier to just take the S/D Bus to the park. What sucks is with the new 2 pm park hopping rule, if I want to cut out of MK earlier ( my least favorite park ) I can't just take the monorail to Epcot and walk back to grab lunch in WS like I used to do.

I think you were just lucky. We are DVC and have had some really good luck with busses, but also some not so good luck. This week we stayed at AKL 2 nights and All Star Sports 3 nights the days we were at All Stars we were the first people in line to scan it at MK, HS, and AK. We usually get to the bus pick up 1.5 hours before early entry so we are sure we didn’t miss a bus. Most days we were the only people on the bus.
