Just arrived at OKW and noticed my blue DVC membership card expired 12-31-21. How can I get a current one? Doesn’t Disney automatically send new cards when expired?

You can print a paper one online, but it will only be good for one month. Since I don't have a smartphone, I print one before each trip.
I did the same thing last month, however they wouldn't accept it for admission to the Meet & Treat event at Atlantic Dance. Never understood why. I did have the digital one as backup.

I had no problem using it to get into the DVC lounge at EPCOT.

They need to accept it. It is DVC who permits printing of it, and they limit it to one month. Seriously, how many people have the capability to counterfeit it?
The reason they went all digital was because of counterfeiting, so the argument that they "need" to accept an even more easily faked version is weak.

They were really easy to fake, and a printout of the digital is even easier.

I have no other option since I don't have a smart phone. If some cast member refuses to accept it, ask to speak to a manager.

Not really sure what you mean, but really hope it doesn't mean causing problems for cast members who are only trying to do their jobs. If it means complaining to those who made the decision, I'm all for it.
I believe that was supposed to be paraphrasing, tongue in cheek, the responses we often see, a la "They need to let me do it my way because that's how it worked before and I'm not going to change my ways and will complain instead".

It probably should have been in quotes.

Yup, added the quotes, thanks!

I am not that 'tech savvy' but I Even have a smart phone.
I think you would hard press to purchase a cell phone now that is NOT smart. They are not expensive.

Maybe ask for one for Christmas 🎄

My father in law who is 96 uses a flip phone and wouldn't know how to use a "smartphone".

I'm 39 and have a flip phone. I absolutely refuse to own a smart phone. I see what they have done to DH and my teens and I am SO sick of staring at the top of their heads. When it's time for DH's phone to be upgraded we're going to have a serious conversation about downgrading him to a basic pone.

You absolutley can still get basic pones. I have no need to be that connectd all the time and do not like what they have done to society as a whole.

5 minutes in photoshop and you can "fake" a paper one. They are very easy to fake.

The argument about not having a smart phone is going to get you into trouble pretty quick. So much in Disney is becoming technology driven, and technology driven means technology dependent. Even if Disney IS accepting paper, that is a CM based decision - the technical "rule" is that they are supposed to see a digital copy of the card that has the same name as your ID. Some CM's are being nice, but they are not required to, and that's going to go away over time as more and more things are pushed into the digital world. As it is, you are quickly being shut out of things like Genie+ and ILL and QS dining. Disney is just not going to be non-technology friendly in the future - you will have to accept that there are some things you will not be able to do without a smart phone. Blue card access is likely to become one of them, and probably already is in some places (CM dependent).
