Looking at buying into Beach Club or Boardwalk with Beach Club running in first place. We like the location near EPCOT and the countries for the long haul. I feel its better to pick where I want to be in the long run than buying a Hilton Head which we would not use; since this is a big ticket item, 160 point were thinking. Also heard Beach Club is the most popular to buy on the second hand market is this true? We have a four year old girl who loves to travel but we are think in the long run as parents we would visit EPCOT an MK mostly. We want to stay at all sites over the years. What are the PRO's and CON's to you?

My Pro's, Beach Club: the pool at Beach Club and being near Yacht Club and near Boardwalk for the food. Con's, Beach Club rooms look plain white. :laundy:

Pro's, Boardwalk: Location to EPCOT lots of food choices. Con's, All the tourist visit Boardwalk.

So what have I missed?

BWV and BCV have always been popular places, but Disney seems to be buying back BCV if too low, where BWVs are passing ROFR. So pro number one for BWV is you'll get a cheaper price if you're really 50/50. You'll see fewer resales for BC because it's smaller.

As for the two, I love them both. The points structure for BW can be cheaper, depending on where you stay. BC can be hard to book during certain times of the year, and it's smaller, so home booking advantage can be a definite pro. BW views are a pro if you own BW, as they are sometimes hard to book.

This is a personal preference, but if choosing between the two, I would choose BCV. Both are beautiful resorts, but I ended up being pleasantly surprised at how much I liked BC once we stayed there. This won't last forever, but BC's pool is tough to manage with younger kids. I have an 8 and 15 YO who can both swim well, but felt I could hardly keep my eye on our DD because of how the pool is laid out. I absolutely love the pool, though.

Good luck with your decision! :thumbsup2

Since BCV is harder to book I would suggest buying there. We loved how close it was to EPCOT! I would like BWV IF the pool was more appealing...our family hates clowns so DH will not stay there, lol! The BCV villa location is nice and quiet and the parking is easy which we also like. It's "close" but still set apart. BWV seems more "happening" and some people like that.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. The decor at the BCV isn't all that different from the decor at the BWV.

We think the parking situation at the BCV is so much better than BWV. During weekends or special times, you may have a lot of difficulty getting a parking space at BWV, but it shouldn't be a problem at BCV.

We like the solitude of the BCV and that you can leave your villa at 8:50PM, watch Illuminations and be back in bed by 9:30PM if you want. BWV is just too busy for us.

BCV and BC have the Marketplace for counter service, but BWV/BWI only have the Bakery which would limit what you could purchase.

BCV has two sets of elevators - one near the entrance from the BC, the other closer to the parking lot. BWV only has one set of elevators centrally located. Which makes the hallways seem so much longer at BWV than BCV (and I think they actually are longer).

If you enjoy great views, pick BWV. I always book my boardwalk view at 11 months.

I don't have a favorite of the two.Just wanted to remind you that for now as a BC member guest you can use the BW pool but a BW member guest can not use the BC pools.

My home is Boardwalk and I wouldn't want to be any place else. Our girls were tweens when we bought and the pool was not a big factor (they do love the slide). It was location. All that entertainment right at our resort. I could sit on our villa porch and watch them (with out them knowing) be independent for the first time. They felt so grown up. Playing carnival games, listening to the piano bike or watching a street performer. We love the music playing, the surrey bikes bells and the hustle & bustle of people strolling along. If they were younger I would have picked Beach Club for the pool. That said too bad they don't stay little for long.
My advise is forget what resale is just buy where you would want to stay, both are tough to book at certain times.

BWV for me. Primarily for the view. However, SAB is a hit with the kids, and we are going to split stay there during our next trip.

You will get a different opinion from everyone.... I vote for Beach Club Villas.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. The decor at the BCV isn't all that different from the decor at the BWV.

Ive not stayed at any DVC. Were still looking. When I looked at the picture of Beach Club the rooms were white. While BLT looked bright and Animal Kingdom had a brown rustic look. Both more unique than what I would have in my house.I will go look at Boardwalk. No hard feelings.

Were you looking at photos of BCV or BC? Here is a link to BCV photos on the DIS.

There are some white accents, but lots of color.

Just found the BC photos and that is what you were looking at.

Second look I agree on the white amount, I just had been looking at other DVC places. Thanks for the help, everybody tries to give good info at DIS.

I don't think you would go wrong either way. Both resorts are great. If you like the walks to and from Epcot the are both close. BC is alot smaller and you may need the 11 month window for that reason. BWV does have the stores and night life. Good Luck

Both resorts are great....we have had wonderful visits to both. Either way you can't go wrong in my opinion.

As most will say....buy where YOU want to stay most.

My take on this is:
If money isn't an issue buy BC.
The BWV is a great resort and it is about 30 percent less of a price.
I would give BC a 95 on a scale of 100.
I would give BW a 93 on a scale of 100.
In by personal opinion BW is a much better deal and I would buy there. But for me price would be an issue.

I have a question for you are you a "The Who" fan?:worship:

We couldn't decide either and bought at BWV. Due to a dreaded disease that all DVC'ers get, we soon added on at BCV and have owned at both resorts for close to ten years.

My advice: Buy smaller contracts at both resorts. You can bank & borrow points and alternate trips between these two wonderful resorts.

Good luck with your decision!

Due to some weird stuff I decided very last minute to try to plan a trip so at less than a week out I started calling to see what was available for 11th of march through 19th nothing, nothing and after several calls over 3 days:cool1: I finally ended up at the Beach Club ,we loved it -Location was fabulous the pool was great we liked the entertainment at BWV too ,but that was just a walk over the bridge .We loved the shorter walk to Epcot and hubby liked the walk over to The Studios -So all of my points are at BLT but I am thinking I will try for 5 days at each resort each stay -SO ya we really liked it so if price isn't a big factor My vote would have to be BC !
:rotfl:Hard choice ,let us know what you decide!

BWV is on the board walk like beach club. We like BWV better then beach club for the overall experence of the board walk. We always book BWview it's the best.

We knew we wanted to purchase at an Epcot resort, for many of the same reasons you mention. I prefer BC, my husband prefer BW. He likes being able to walk to DHS from the boardwalk, which feels a little impractical from BC. We both like the views from the rooms at BWV - that boardwalk view remains one of our favorites anywhere. We both like the pool better at the BC, however.

We bought at BWV, and haven't regretted it. We walk regularly to both DHS and Epcot when we stay there, we love the views, and our son really loves hanging out on the boardwalk and watching the entertainers.

However, I will say, when I've called inside the 7 month mark to book either extra days on a vacation or an entire vacation, I've never been able to get more than a night at the BCV and I've been able to get an entire week at the BWV...
