DVC Availability during F&W?

I've heard how hard it is to get ressies at DVC resorts during the F&W festival, and we're thinking of going in 2008. Is there a time during the F&W when it's more or less difficult to get DVC reservations (say, the first few weeks, late October, or the last couple weeks)? We have no idea yet which week we'd be interested in, so any guidance would help.

If you make a reservation as soon as possible, you will get it. But the BWV and BCV get full rather quickly.

I agree, you'll get something at the 7 month window, but as mentioned, BWV and BCV are slim pickings at the 7 month window. This is the only time a year I use my 11 month window and book day-by-day at BWV.

It also depends on what type of accommodations you want and when. This year I called in July for a 1BR in early November and the only thing available was BWV (very weird) and we had to waitlist for OKW. If you follow the PPs advice and call as soon as possible, you should have success in securing what you want.

I had guests decide to come, and although I couldn't get SV BWV studio for them, I did get a preferred view, which I kept. I got the studio around 5 months out, 2 years ago. It was for a Friday - Monday stay, so maybe it was easier because it was over a weekend. We were there for F&W and for the first Halloween party that year.

Are the non EPCOT resorts as hard to book during this time? We were thinking for early Nov 2009 about AKV, (which I believe should be complete by then), or VWL. I'm sure those book quickly for this time of year too, but are they as hard at the 7 month mark?

IMO, for a while after Kidani is complete, availability at 7 months will be easier due to its size, but as more and more folks buy, it will get progressively more difficult (not impossible, just more difficult.

IIRC, that was the situation with SSR, and now it has become harder to book at certain times. Whether AKV follows that pattern could depend on whether being in "natazu" creates a faster sell-out than SSR.

For this year's trip, I didn't have enough VWL points to book the studio for DM and DSis, so I booked a BWV studio for them. At 7 months I was able to change their ressie, Saturday to Thursday from BWV to VWL.
