I've searched and can't seem to find anything recent... Looking for more information on the SPA perks at Aulani for DVC. I see a savings of $5-15 based on the treatment... how exactly does that work? Is it off the price? Complimentary upgrade? Add-on item?

Hi thank you for replying... yes I saw that, it was actually what I was referring too when I said a savings of $5-15 in my original post... I'm looking for SPECIFICALLY what that means... its vague. So, someone who has used the spa and the DVC perks at Aulani, what do they give you with that $5-15? Do they just subtract it from the price, is it an additional add-on worth that amount, etc. Just trying to find actual specifics or an example. Member services was unhelpful.

The way I read it, it's a complimentary upgrade that's valued between $5 and $15.

Right... but again... what too... what is the upgrade... As an example... The cost of a 50 minute massage upgraded to the next level of 80 minutes costs way more than $5-15. That's whats confusing... the purported savings doesn't match the prices on the next level of service based on the menu... which leads me to believe there is something we are missing. I'm sure there is extra stuff included, I'm just trying to determine what.

Massage Therapy
Lomilomi Massage 50 min $155
Signature Laniwai Lomilomi 50 min $165

Lomilomi Massage 80 min $215
Signature Laniwai Lomilomi 80 min $225

The upgrade is in the level of the service, not the length. In the above, you would pay for the 50 min Lomilomi Massage and should receive the 50 min Signature Lomilomi Massage.

AH... ok... that makes sense... Did you see any information on what the signature includes vs the regular?

There is a general description of the Lomilomi & Signature Lomilomi on the Aulani Website.
Lomilomi (50 or 80 minutes)
The Lomilomi is a traditional Hawaiian massage that promotes healing. Passed down from generation to generation, this hands-on massage uses gentle, rhythmic pressure to relieve tension and help you achieve ultimate relaxation.

Signature Lomilomi (50 or 80 minutes)
In the traditional Hawaiian massage, gentle, rhythmic pressure relieves tension and promotes healing. Our Signature Lomilomi adds the uses of soothing Lomilomi sticks and warm river stones to help you achieve ultimate relaxation.

In order to get the DVC upgrade at Aulani, you have to do the Lomilomi massage. You are then upgraded to the Signature Lomilomi for the same price. You have to decide whether you want 50 or 80 minutes and they charge you accordingly. They automatically include gratuity on the bill. When you call to book your appointment, let them know that you are DVC --they should ask.

I was at Aulani in July and did the 50 minute DVC Signature Lomilomi treatment. I met three women before my treatment in the hydrotherapy garden who had just done it and they raved about it. Once I had my treatment, I understood their raves. I wish I had done the 80 minute one.

Make sure to come early to your treatment and bring your swim suit. You can use the hydrotherapy garden before and after your treatment. They also give you a complimentary scrub to use after your treatment that was heavenly. If you don't want to shower there, you can take it back to your room.
