What else are they supposed to do besides mimick the existing buildings? Anything too different would ruin the aesthetic. If DVC owners want a GF DVC and they can make money off of it, why not?

There was all kind of construction over by the wedding pavilion last week. This should be interesting. I have 300 BLT points. IDK that I will buy at GF.

to be honest, I dont think there is any question there will be a GF DVC. But they cant announce it until they sell off what inventory they have

remember, Bay Lake Tower was well under construction when they finally announced (admitted) it

I wouldn't expect to hear updates with any great regularity, it's just the nature of a project like this -- especially since Disney won't even hint that they're building a DVC resort there until it's close to complete.

Trust me....Everyone is dening any DF building at the Grand Floridian but it's coming. Construction HAS been slowed down....but it's still coming

We asked the wedding planners but couldn't get a straight answer.....

I never stayed at the GF because it was too expensive. I assume once the point charts come out I still won't stay there because the points will be too high. Just one members' opinion.

Just received an email from DVC announcing the new DVC resort at the Grand Floridian. The email indicates there will be 147 villas.

I just got the email. I can't wait to find out how much the points will be. I want to add on enough points for one trip. Or maybe enough to go every other year borrowing from the next year. I love staying at the GF. We just got back last night from BLT and looked at the area where they are building. Didn't look like enough room to build a DVC.

1) They desperately need the new high priced GF-DVC rooms.
2) They can't get rid of the other unsold DVC inventory.
3) They are just not selling.
4) And Disney admits in the article that sales are even getting slower.

we just added on 50 more points in June to BLT because our guide was so insistent that it was going to sell out by August and we should add on before the price goes up. If they can't sell, then why do they keep increasing the prices??? Maybe they shouldn't and more people would buy in. I don't get it.

The area does seem super small that they are building on and why so close to the Wedding Pavilion. I would have been soooo mad if this was going on 6 years ago when I got married.

They're filling in part of the lake for the construction so it will be larger when done.
